Claims
- 1. An above-ground termite control device comprising:a housing for retaining removable termite control material, said housing including an upper side and a lower side which faces the ground, wherein at least one opening is formed in the lower side of the housing for permitting entry of termites into the housing, wherein the at least one opening faces the ground, further comprising a below ground termite control device coupled thereto.
- 2. The pest control device of claim 1, wherein the housing includes a removable cover to permit inspection and replacement of a pest control material.
- 3. A pest control device comprising:a first pest control housing disposed above ground; a second pest control housing disposed below ground; and, resilient means for connecting said first and second pest control housings, wherein said first and second pest control housings comprise termite control housings for controlling at least one species of termite.
- 4. The pest control device of claim 3, wherein the second pest control housing comprises a termite tube.
- 5. A pest control device comprising:a first substantially horizontally oriented pest control housing disposed above ground; a second substantially vertically oriented pest control housing disposed below ground; and, means for connecting said first and second pest control housings, wherein said first and second pest control housings comprise termite control housings.
- 6. The pest control device of claim 5, wherein the second pest control housing comprises a termite tube.
- 7. A termite control apparatus comprising:at least one termite station; and at least one trackway device disposed near the at least one termite station but not coupled thereto, wherein said at least one trackway device provides a path for termites to the at least one termite station.
- 8. The termite control apparatus of claim 7, wherein the at least one trackway device comprises a cylindrical tube.
- 9. The termite control apparatus of claim 7, wherein the at least one trackway device comprises one selected from the group of: rods, tubes, wires, cords, or strings.
- 10. A termite control insert for insertion into a termite control device comprising:an insert adapted for insertion into a termite control device with first and second pest control regions formed therein, wherein the first pest control region comprises at least one cavity for receiving a first type of pest attractant, and wherein the second pest control region comprises at least one cavity for receiving a second type of pest attractant.
- 11. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the first pest control region comprises a centrally disposed cavity, and the second pest control region comprises a plurality of cavities disposed around the periphery of the centrally disposed cavity.
- 12. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the first pest control region comprises a first off-center cavity, and the second pest control region comprises a second off-center cavity, wherein a diameter of the first off-center cavity is substantially greater than a diameter of the second off-center cavity.
- 13. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the housing includes grooves therein for stimulating termite activity.
- 14. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the insert is formed of a rigid foam material.
- 15. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the insert is formed of wood.
- 16. The termite control insert of claim 10,wherein the insert comprises a substantially rigid termite control material, the first pest control region comprises a first cavity in the substantially rigid termite control material, and the second pest control region comprises a second cavity in the substantially rigid termite control material.
- 17. A pest control device comprising:a housing disposed above the ground and including a plurality of compartments, wherein at least one of said plurality of compartments is adapted for receiving liquid and releasing such liquid into the ground disposed beneath the pest control device.
- 18. The termite control device of claim 17, wherein the liquid comprises water.
- 19. A termite control device comprising:a housing including a plurality of compartments, wherein at least one of said plurality of compartments is adapted for receiving liquid and releasing such liquid into the area surrounding the termite control device, wherein the liquid comprises a termite attractant.
- 20. The termite control device of wherein claim 17, wherein the at least one of said plurality of compartments includes at least one chamber for storing the liquid, and at least one drip hole coupled to the at least one chamber for permitting release of the stored liquid.
- 21. The pest control device claim 17, further comprising a below-ground termite control device coupled thereto.
- 22. The pest control device of claim 21, wherein the below-ground termite control device includes at least one chamber for storing liquid, and at least one drip hole coupled to the at least one chamber for permitting release of the stored liquid.
- 23. The pest control device of claim 17, wherein the liquid comprises a bait material for pests other than termites.
- 24. A termite control apparatus comprising:at least one termite station; and at least one trackway device disposed near the at least one termite station and removably coupled thereto, wherein said at least one trackway device provides a path for termites to the at least one termite station.
- 25. The termite control insert of claim 9,wherein the insert is formed of a plastic material.
- 26. The termite control insert of claim 9,wherein the insert is formed of cellulose material.
- 27. The termite control apparatus of claim 7, wherein the at least one trackway device comprises at least one substantially flat panel.
- 28. An above-ground termite control device comprising:a housing for retaining removable termite control material, said housing including at least two sidewalls, an upper side and a lower side which faces the ground, wherein at least one opening is formed in only the lower side of the housing for permitting entry of termites into the housing, and wherein the at least one opening faces the ground such that termites may only enter the device from the lower side, and not from either of the sidewalls or the upper side, and wherein the at least one opening is in direct contact with the ground such that termites may enter the housing directly from the ground beneath the housing.
