Claims
- 1. A method for preventing pests of the Order Acarina from producing viable eggs which comprises applying to the pest or the pest's environment an effective amount of a compound of formula (I) ##STR14## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen;
- X is NH
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are the same or different and are methyl or chloro;
- and R.sup.5 is hydrogen or an acid addition salt thereof to inhibit the production of viable eggs by said pests.
- 2. A method as claimed in claim 1 wherein the pests are ticks.
- 3. The method of claim 1 in which 2-(2,3-dimethylanilinomethyl)-2-imidazoline or an acid addition salt thereof is applied.
- 4. The method of claim 1 in which 2-(2-chloro-3-methylanilinomethyl)-2-imidazoline or an acid addition salt thereof is applied.
- 5. The method of claim 3 or 4 wherein the pests are ticks.
