The disclosure relates to pet hair removal tools and more particularly pertains to a new pet hair removal tool for brushing pet hair off of furniture.
The prior art discloses pet hair removal tools which resort to collecting pet hair onto a surface with an adhesive or a hooking means. The prior art also discloses pet hair removal tools which sweep the pet hair into a pile which resort to bristles or protruding flaps or spikes to move the hair. However, the prior art does not disclose a device comprising a deformable, absorbent brush head for conforming to a furniture surface and pushing the pet hair into a pile for convenient pickup and disposal.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a handle with a brush head extending from one end of the handle and a brush cover encasing the brush head. The brush head is constructed of a resiliently deformable and absorbent material, and the brush cover is constructed of a resiliently flexible and absorbent material with a smooth surface facing away from said brush head. The brush head and brush cover are configured to conform to a shape of a furniture surface when pressed onto the furniture surface, thereby facilitating sweeping a hair on the furniture surface into a pile.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A brush head 22 is coupled to and extends from the second end 16 of the handle 12. The brush head 22 has a proximal end 24 relative to the handle 12 and a distal end 26 relative to the handle 12. The brush head 22 is elongate between the proximal end 24 and the distal end 26. The brush head 22 has an elliptical cross-section, wherein a major axis of the elliptical cross-section is aligned with the edge 20 of the handle 12. The brush head 22 is constructed of a resiliently deformable and absorbent material, which may be foam rubber or the like, and is configured for conforming to a shape of a furniture surface 28 while being pressed onto the furniture surface 28.
A brush cover 30 encases the brush head 22. The brush cover 30 has a smooth surface 32 facing away from the brush head 22 which is smooth enough not to abrasively damage the furniture surface 28 when frictionally engaging the furniture surface 28. The brush cover 30 is constructed of a resiliently flexible and absorbent material, which may be chamois leather, nonwoven viscose, or the like, and is configured for conforming to a shape of a furniture surface 28 while being pressed onto the furniture surface 28. The brush cover 30 is also configured for sweeping a hair 34 on the furniture surface 28 into a pile by being dragged along the furniture surface 28.
In use, the brush head 22 and the brush cover 30 are wetted. Then a user holds the handle 12 and drags the brush cover 30 along the furniture surface 28 while pressing it into the furniture surface 28 such that the brush cover 30 conforms to the shape of the furniture surface 28. In so doing, the device 10 sweeps a hair 34 into a pile for easy pickup and disposal.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
