Latin name of the genus and species of the plant claimed: Petunia hybrida.
Varietal denomination: ‘PEHY0085’.
The present invention comprises a new Petunia, botanically known as Petunia hybrida, and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘PEHY0085’.
‘PEHY0085’ is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar has relatively small flowers, a pink flower color, relatively late flowering, a trailing plant habit and very strong vigor.
‘PEHY0085’ originated from a hybridization made in June 2017 in a controlled breeding environment in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands. The female parent was the proprietary selection ‘P0296-296’. Compared to ‘PEHY0085’, it has a bigger flower, is earlier flowering and has less pronounced veins in the flower.
The male parent of ‘PEHY0085’ was the proprietary selection ‘BB0504-2V’. Compared to ‘PEHY0085’, it has salmon flower color, is less vigorous and with a clear vein in the flower.
The resulting seeds were sown in September 2017. ‘PEHY0085’ was selected as one flowering plant within the progeny of the stated cross in November 2017 in a controlled environment in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.
The first act of asexual reproduction of ‘PEHY0085’ was accomplished when vegetative stem cuttings were propagated from the initial selection in January 2018 in a controlled environment in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.
Horticultural examination of plants grown from cuttings of the plant initiated in January 2018 and continuing thereafter, has demonstrated that the combination of characteristics as herein disclosed for ‘PEHY0085’ are firmly fixed and are retained through successive generations of asexual reproduction.
‘PEHY0085’ has not been observed under all possible environmental conditions. The phenotype may vary significantly with variations in environment such as temperature, light intensity, and day length.
A Plant Breeder's Rights for this cultivar has been applied for in Canada on Nov. 29, 2023, No. 23-11543. ‘PEHY0085’ has not been made publicly available prior to the effective filing date of this application, notwithstanding any disclosure that may have been made less than one year prior to the effective filing date of this application by the inventor or another who obtained ‘PEHY0085’ directly from the inventor.
The following traits have been repeatedly observed and are determined to be basic characteristics of the new variety. The combination of these characteristics distinguishes this Petunia as a new and distinct variety.
The accompanying photographic drawings show typical flower and foliage characteristics of ‘PEHY0085’ with colors being as true as possible with an illustration of this type.

The aforementioned photographs were taken in May 2023 from plants growing indoors in 14 cm pots in Gilroy, California, USA. These plants were approximately 12 weeks of age.
The plant descriptions and measurements were taken in August 2023 in Andijk, The Netherlands on outdoor plants grown in containers. These plants were about 16 weeks old.
