Claims
- 1. A method for treating or preventing angiogenesis-dependent conditions by administering to a subject a nitric oxide synthase gene in the form of naked DNA.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the nitric oxide synthase gene is endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the nitric oxide synthase gene is macrophage derived nitric oxide synthase gene or inducible nitric synthase (iNOS) gene.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the nitric oxide synthase gene is brain derived nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) gene.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the angiogenesis-dependent condition is selected from the group consisting of: wound healing including bedsore and skin ulcer; inflammatory diseases; critical limb ischemia; ischemic heart disease such as myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and heart failure; cerebral infarction; diabetic neuropathy; and spinal canal stenosis.
