Claims
- 1. A method for treating and/or preventing the ophthalmologic clinical symptom and sign in dry eye including Sjögren syndrome,
administering to a patient in need thereof an ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition comprising trehalose as an effective ingredient and a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier, whereby the ophthalmologic clinical symptom and sign are improved or even remitted, and such improvement or remission will last for some days even after completion of the administration.
- 2. In an ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing the ophthalmologic clinical symptom and sign in dry eye including Sjögren syndrome, the improvement wherein said composition comprises trehalose as an effective ingredient in an amount effective for such treatment and/or prevention.
- 3. An ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing the ophthalmologic clinical symptom and sign in dry eye including Sjögren syndrome, which comprises trehalose as an effective ingredient in an amount effective for such treatment and/or prevention and one or more pharmaceutically-acceptable carriers selected from the group consisting of sodium chloride, D-glucose, and water.
