Claims
- 1. The method of treating an animal which has inflammation in order to inhibit the inflammation process, by administering to said animal a therapeutically effective amount of an amine borane selected from the following: ##STR6## Where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, CONR.sup.1 R.sup.2, COOH, halogen, and COOR.sup.3,
- R is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are H or alkyl; and
- R.sup.3 is alkyl; ##STR7## where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, and halogen; and R is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; ##STR8## where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, and COOH; and amine is selected from the group consisting of morpholine, N-methylmorpholine, pyridine, and cyanoethyldimethylamine; and ##STR9## where X is selected from the group consisting of CN, CONR.sup.1 R.sup.2, and COOH;
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are H or alkyl; and
- Y is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the amine borane is selected from the following: ##STR10## where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, CONR.sup.1 R.sup.2, COOH, I, and COOR.sup.3
- R is methyl;
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are H or alkyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and R.sup.3 is alkyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; ##STR11## where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, and I; and R is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; ##STR12## where X is selected from the group consisting of H, CN, and COOH; and amine is selected from the group consisting of morpholine, N-methylmorpholine, pyridine, and cyanoethyldimethylamine; and ##STR13## where X is selected from the group consisting of CN, CONR.sup.1 R.sup.2, and COOH;
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are H or alkyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and
- Y is hydrogen or methyl.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 CNH.sub.2.BH.sub.3.
- 4. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is O(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.2 NH.BH.sub.3.
- 5. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.3.
- 6. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.2 NH.BH.sub.3.
- 7. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 CN.
- 8. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.2 NH.BH.sub.2 CN.
- 9. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 CON(H)CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3.
- 10. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 COOH.
- 11. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 I.
- 12. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is [CH.sub.2 N(CH.sub.3).sub.2.BH.sub.2 CH].sub.2.
- 13. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is [CH.sub.2 N(CH.sub.3).sub.2.BH.sub.2 COOH].sub.2.
- 14. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is [CH.sub.2 N(CH.sub.3).sub.2.BH.sub.2 CON(H)CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3 ].sub.2.
- 15. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is O(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.2 N(CH.sub.3).BH.sub.2 CN.
- 16. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is C.sub.5 H.sub.5 N.BH.sub.2 CN.
- 17. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is C.sub.5 H.sub.5 N.BH.sub.2 COOH.
- 18. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is H.sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 CN.
- 19. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 N.BH.sub.2 COOCH.sub.2 CH.sub.3.
- 20. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is NCCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 N(CH.sub.3).sub.2.BH.sub.2 CN.
- 21. The method of claim 2 wherein the amine borane is (CH.sub.2 NH.sub.2.BH.sub.2 CN).sub.2.
