Claims
- 1. A phenylcyclohexane of formula I: in which n is 0 to 7, Q1 and Q2 are H, or one of these radicals is alternatively CH3, r is 0, 1, 2 or 3, A is trans-1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene, 3-fluoro-1,4-phenylene or a single bond, X is F or Cl, and Y and Z are each independently H or F.
- 2. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 1.
- 3. An electrooptical display based on a liquid-crystal cell, wherein the liquid-crystal cell contains a medium according to claim 2.
- 4. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 1, wherein Y and Z are H.
- 5. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 1, wherein Y is F and Z is H or F.
- 6. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 4.
- 7. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 5.
- 8. An electrooptical display based on a liquid-crystal cell, wherein the liquid-crystal cell contains a medium according to claim 6.
- 9. An electrooptical display based on a liquid-crystal cell, wherein the liquid-crystal cell contains a medium according to claim 7.
- 10. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 1, wherein X is F.
- 11. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 10, wherein Q1 and Q2 are H and A is trans-1,4-cyclohexylene.
- 12. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 10, wherein X and Y are F and Z is H.
- 13. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 10, wherein Z is F.
- 14. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 11, wherein Z is F.
- 15. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 1, wherein n is 0.
- 16. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 1, wherein n is 1.
- 17. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 4, wherein n is 0.
- 18. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 4, wherein n is 1.
- 19. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 5, wherein n is 0.
- 20. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 5, wherein n is 1.
- 21. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 10, wherein n is 0.
- 22. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 10, wherein n is 1.
- 23. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 11, wherein n is 0.
- 24. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 11, wherein n is 1.
- 25. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 12, wherein n is 0.
- 26. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 12, wherein n is 1.
- 27. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 13, wherein n is 0.
- 28. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 13, wherein n is 1.
- 29. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 14, wherein n is 0.
- 30. A phenylcyclohexane according to claim 14, wherein n is 1.
- 31. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 10.
- 32. An electrooptical display having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a liquid-crystalline medium according to claim 31.
- 33. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 11.
- 34. An electrooptical display having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a liquid-crystalline medium ph according to claim 33.
- 35. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 12.
- 36. An electrooptical display having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a liquid-crystalline medium according to claim 35.
- 37. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 13.
- 38. An electrooptical display having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a liquid-crystalline medium according to claim 37.
- 39. A liquid-crystalline medium for electrooptical displays having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a phenylcyclohexane of the formula I according to claim 14.
- 40. An electro optical display having at least two liquid-crystalline components, wherein at least one component is a liquid-crystalline medium according to claim 39.
