Claims
- 1. A mixture consisting essentially of phenylethyl methylcarbonate having the structure: ##STR37## and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of: (i) 3-Methyl-1-phenyl-pentanol-5 or stereoisomers thereof having a structure selected from the group consisting of: ##STR38## the weight ratio of phenylethyl methylcarbonate:3-methyl-1-phenyl-pentanol-5 being from about 0.1:1 up to about 1:0.1; and
- (ii) at least one cyclohexyl butenone derivative defined according to the structure: ##STR39## wherein one or two of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and the other of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon single bond with the proviso that when two of the dashed lines are carbon-carbon double bonds, said carbon-carbon double bonds are conjugated, the weight ratio of phenylethyl methylcarbonate:cyclohexyl butenone derivative having the generic structure: ##STR40## being from about 1:1.times.10.sup.-7 up to about 1:1.
- 2. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of consumable materials selected from the group consisting of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles comprising the step of adding to a perfume composition or cologne an aroma augmenting or enhancing quantity of the composition of matter of claim 1.
- 3. The process of claim 2 wherein the consumable material is a perfume composition or cologne.
