Claims
- 1. A method of inhibiting a protein phosphatase comprising contacting the protein phosphatase with a protein phosphatase-inhibiting effective amount of a compound having the formula ##STR9## wherein R, R', R", and R'" are independently H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, oxetanyl, azetidinyl, furanyl, pyrrole, indolyl, oxazolyl, isoxazolyl, imidazolyl, pyrazolyl, triazolyl, tetrazolyl, pyranyl, pyridyl, pyridonyl, piperidyl, piperazinyl, quinolyl, azepinyl, and diazepinyl.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said protein phosphatase is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein said protein phosphatase is PP1, PP2A, or PP3.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said protein phosphatase is a dual specificity phosphatase.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein said phosphatase is CDC25A or CDC25B.
