Claims
- 1. A compound of formula (X) wherein A is the ring system in whichR is a linear or branched alkyl radical having 10 to 24 carbon atoms which may contain one or more double or triple bonds; R1 and R2 independently of one another are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and linear alkyl radicals having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; y is 0, 1, 2 or 3; m and n are independently 0 or in an integer, with the proviso that m+n is between 2 and 8; or wherein A is a tropanio or quinuclidinio ring system, which is linked via a carbon-carbon bond and is optionally substituted by one or more methyl groups.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein A is selected from the group consisting of a pyrrolidinio, piperidinio, hexahydroazepinio, 1-methylquinuclidinio-3-yl, and 1,1-dimethyltropanio-4-yl ring.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 wherein R is selected from the group consisting of an octadecyl, hexadecyl, erucyl, tetradecyl, cis-Δ9 octadecyl, and eicosyl radical.
- 4. The compound of one of claims 1 to 3 wherein R is selected from the group consisting of an octadecyl, hexadecyl, erucyl, tetradecyl, cis-Δ9 octadecyl, and eicosysl radical.
- 5. Octadecyl-1,1-dimethylpiperidinio-4-yl phosphate.
- 6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising one or more compounds according to one of claims 1 to 3 or 5 in a pharmaceutically effective amount, optionally together with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or excipients.
- 7. A pharmaceutical composition comprising octadecyl-1,1-dimethylpiperidinio-4-yl phosphate in a pharmaceutically effective amount, optionally together with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or excipients.
- 8. A method of treating a tumor which comprises administering to a host in need of treatment a tumor-treating effective amount of a compound according to one of claims 1 to 3 or 5.
- 9. The method of claim 8 wherein said tumor is a solid tumor.
- 10. The method of claim 8 wherein said tumor is selected from the group consisting of larynx, breast, small-cell lung, non-small-cell lung, prostate, pancreas, colon central nervous system, skin and liver tumors.
- 11. The method of claim 10 wherein said tumor is a breast tumor.
- 12. The method of claim 8 wherein said tumor is leukemia.
- 13. The method of claim 8 wherein said compound is octadecyl-1,1-dimethylpiperidinio-4-yl phosphate.
