Claims
- 1. A photographic system comprising:
- a photographic camera including
- a first housing for housing a photographic film cartridge containing a photographic film,
- a second housing for housing said photographic film drawn from said cartridge, said photographic film having two longitudinal marginal areas, a first of said two marginal areas having holes and being used as a recording area where film information about said photographic film can be recorded,
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film and positioning a frame of said photographic film for exposure by detecting at least one of said holes,
- exposure means disposed between said first housing and said second housing for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded on said frame of said photographic film,
- film recording means for recording aspect information on said photographic film and for recording photographic information or camera information on a second of said two marginal areas, said aspect information indicating an aspect of an effective area on said photographic film where an exposed area is to be printed on photosensitive photographic paper, and
- control means for controlling said film drive means and said film recording means to record said aspect information at a predetermined position in one of said two marginal areas; and
- a photographic film printer for printing on said photosensitive photographic paper a processed photographic film recorded using said photographic camera, including
- a printer body,
- light source and variable mask means disposed on said printer body for exposing said photographic paper,
- detecting means for detecting said at least one of said holes and said aspect information recorded at said predetermined position by said photographic camera and for generating a hole detecting signal and an aspect information signal,
- determining means for determining whether said detecting means has correctly detected said aspect information and for generating a size information signal based on said aspect information signal,
- processed photographic film drive control means disposed on said printer body for controlling driving of said photographic film in response to said hole detecting signal and for positioning said frame of said photographic film, and
- printing means disposed on said printer body for varying said variable mask in response to said size information signal.
- 2. A photographic system according to claim 1, wherein said film drive means controls feeding of said photographic film so that a distance between a starting point of said frame and one of said holes is a constant distance for successive frames.
- 3. A photographic system according to claim 1, wherein said control means prevents said film recording means from recording said camera information or said photographic information in excess of an amount based upon a frame size dimension in a film-feeding direction.
- 4. A photographic system according to claim 3, wherein said amount of said camera information or said photographic information is limited to a number of characters that can be recorded dependent upon said frame size dimension in said film-feeding direction.
- 5. A photographic system according to claim 3, wherein said camera information or said photographic information is input through an input device.
- 6. A photographic film camera comprising:
- a first housing for housing a photographic film cartridge containing a photographic film strip;
- a second housing for housing said photographic film strip drawn from said cartridge, said photographic film strip having two longitudinal marginal areas, a first of said two marginal areas being used as a recording area where film information about said photographic film strip can be recorded;
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film strip and positioning a frame of said photographic film strip for exposure by detecting at least one hole located in one of said two marginal areas;
- exposure means disposed between said first housing and said second housing for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded on said photographic film;
- film recording means for recording aspect information and for recording photographic information or camera information on a second of said two marginal areas, said aspect information indicating an aspect of an effective area on said photographic film strip where an exposed area is to be printed on photographic print paper.Iadd., wherein said film recording means records a printer control signal in one of said two marginal areas.Iaddend.; and
- control means for controlling said film drive means and said film recording means to record said aspect information at a predetermined position in one of said two marginal areas.
- 7. A photographic film camera according to claim 6, wherein said film drive means controls feeding of said photographic film strip so that a distance between a starting point of said frame and said at least one hole is a constant distance for successive frames.
- 8. A photographic film camera according to claim 6, wherein said control means prevents said film recording means from recording said camera information or said photographic information in excess of an amount based upon a frame size dimension in a film-feeding direction.
- 9. A photographic film printer for printing a processed photographic film on photosensitive paper, said photographic printer comprising:
- a printer body;
- light source and variable mask means disposed on said printer body for exposing said photosensitive paper;
- detecting means for detecting at least one hole formed in one of two longitudinal marginal areas along said processed photographic film and generating a hole detecting signal and for detecting aspect information recorded at a predetermined position in one of said two marginal areas;
- determining means for determining whether said detecting means has correctly detected said aspect information and for determining if said detected aspect information is information of a predetermined size;
- processed photographic film drive means disposed on said printer body for controlling driving of said photographic film in response to said hole detecting signal and for positioning a frame of said photographic film; and
- printing means disposed on said printer body for varying said light source and variable mask means in response to said determined size information that indicates an aspect of an effective area on said photographic film where an exposure area is to be printed on said photosensitive paper.
- 10. A photographic film printer according to claim 9, wherein said light source and variable mask means includes a variable opening photographic film mask.
- 11. A photographic film printer according to claim 9, wherein said light source and variable mask means includes a variable opening photosensitive paper mask.
- 12. A photographic camera system comprising:
- a photographic film strip accommodated in a cartridge and having an effective exposure area and two longitudinal marginal areas along said photographic film strip,
- said effective exposure area being used as a recording area where an image of a subject can be optically recorded,
- a first of said two marginal areas having holes and being used as a recording area where film information about said photographic film strip can be recorded,
- a second of said two marginal areas being used as a recording area where camera information or photographic information can be recorded; and
- a photographic camera using said photographic film, said camera including
- a first housing for housing said cartridge accommodating said photographic film strip,
- a second housing for housing said photographic film strip drawn form said cartridge,
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film strip and positioning a frame of said photographic film strip for exposure by detecting at least one of said holes in said first of said two marginal areas,
- exposure means disposed between said first housing and said second housing for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded on said frame of said photographic film strip,
- film recording means for recording aspect information and for recording said camera information or said photographic information on said second of said two marginal areas, said aspect information indicating an aspect of an effective area of said photographic film strip where an exposed area is to be printed on photographic print paper, and
- control means for controlling said film drive means and said film recording means to record said aspect information at a predetermined position in one of said two marginal areas.
- 13. A photographic camera system according to claim 12, wherein said control means prevents said film recording means from recording said camera information or said photographic information in excess of an amount depending upon a frame size in a film-feeding direction.
- 14. A photographic film cartridge accommodating a photographic film that is devoid of sprocket holes, said photographic film cartridge comprising:
- a cartridge; and
- a photographic film accommodated in said cartridge,
- said photographic film having an effective exposure area and two longitudinal marginal areas,
- said effective exposure area being used to expose an image of a subject,
- at least one of said two marginal areas having film position detecting holes that are optically detected and used for positioning, and
- a first of used two marginal areas being used as a recording area where film information about said photographic film is optically recorded and wherein said first of said two marginal areas has a predetermined position for recording aspect information.
- 15. A photographic film cartridge according to claim 14, wherein a second of said two marginal areas is used for recording photographic information.
- 16. A photographic camera comprising:
- a first housing for housing a photographic film cartridge containing a photographic film strip;
- a second housing for housing said photographic film strip drawn from said cartridge;
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film strip and positioning a frame of said photographic film strip for exposure by detecting at least one hole located in one of two longitudinal marginal edges along said photographic film strip;
- exposure means disposed between said first housing and said second housing for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded on said photographic film strip; and
- film recording means for recording an exposure position control signal on one of said marginal edges of said photographic film strip and for recording camera information .[.and.]., an aspect information signal on said one of said marginal edges of said photographic film strip, .Iadd.and a printer control signal on one of said marginal edges,.Iaddend.
- wherein said exposure position control signal indicates an exposed area on said photographic film strip that is to be printed on photographic paper, and said aspect information signal indicates an aspect of an effective area on said photographic film strip where said exposed area is to be printed on said photographic paper.
- 17. A photographic camera according claim 16, wherein said photographic camera further includes control means for controlling said film drive means and said film recording means to record said exposure position control signal and said aspect information at predetermined positions on said one of said marginal edges of said photographic film strip.
- 18. A photographic camera according to claim 17, wherein said control means prevents said recording means from recording said camera information in excess of an amount depending on a frame size in a film-feeding direction.
- 19. A photographic film camera comprising:
- a first housing for housing a photographic film cartridge containing a photographic film, said photographic film being devoid of sprocket holes and having an effective exposure area and two longitudinal marginal areas, at least one of said two longitudinal marginal areas having film position detecting holes .Iadd.and pre-recorded film information.Iaddend.;
- a second housing for housing said photographic film drawn from said photographic film cartridge;
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film between said first housing and said second housing;
- sensor means for detecting one of said film position detecting holes and generating a film position detecting signal based upon said film position detecting holes;
- exposure means disposed between said first housing and said second housing for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded in said effective exposure area of said photographic film;
- recording means for recording aspect information .Iadd.and frame information relating to said effective exposure area .Iaddend.on said film.Iadd., and for recording a printer control signal on said film.Iaddend.; and
- control means including a micro-computer electrically connected to said sensor means and to said film drive means for controlling a position of said effective exposure area so as to record said image based upon said film position detecting signal, said control means controlling said recording means to record at least said aspect information.Iadd., said frame information, and said printer control signal .Iaddend.at a predetermined position in one of said two longitudinal marginal areas.
- 20. A photographic film camera according to claim 19, wherein said recording means further records photographic information or camera information at a predetermined position in one of said two longitudinal marginal areas of said photographic film.
- 21. A photographic film camera according to claim 20, wherein said photographic information consists of an exposure date, an exposure condition, and/or photographer identification information.
- 22. A photographic film camera according to claim 19, wherein said control means prevents said recording means from recording said camera information in excess of an amount that depends on a length along a film feeding direction.
- 23. A photographic camera system having a photographic film accommodated in a cartridge, said photographic film being devoid of sprocket holes and having two longitudinal marginal areas and an effective exposure area for exposing an image of a subject to be recorded, at least one of said two longitudinal marginal areas having film position detecting holes, said camera system comprising:
- a first housing for housing said photographic film;
- a second housing for housing said photographic film drawn from said first housing;
- film drive means for feeding said photographic film between said first housing and said second housing;
- sensor means for optically detecting one of said position detecting holes formed in at least one of said two longitudinal marginal areas and for generating a film position detecting signal based upon said film position detecting holes.Iadd., at least one of said two longitudinal marginal areas having film information pre-recorded thereon.Iaddend.;
- recording means for recording aspect information .Iadd.and frame information relating to said exposure area .Iaddend.on said photographic film.Iadd., and for recording a printer control signal on said photographic film.Iaddend.; and
- control means including a micro-computer electrically connected to said sensor means and to said film drive means for controlling a position of said effective exposure area of said photographic film so as to record said image based upon said film position detecting signal, said control means controlling said recording means to record at least said aspect information.Iadd., said frame information, and said printer control signal .Iaddend.at a predetermined position in one of said two longitudinal marginal areas.
- 24. A photographic film camera system according to claim 23, wherein said sensor means includes a photocoupler.
- 25. A photographic film camera system according to claim 24, wherein said recording means further records photographic information or camera information at a predetermined position in one of said two longitudinal marginal areas of said photographic film.
- 26. A photographic film camera system according to claim 25, wherein said photographic information consists of an exposure date, an exposure condition, and/or photographer identification information. .Iadd.27. A photographic film camera according to claim 19, wherein said frame information is a frame number for said effective exposure area..Iaddend..Iadd.28. A photographic camera system according to claim 23, wherein said frame information is a frame number for said effective exposure area..Iaddend.
