Claims
- 1. A compound represented by the formula ##STR30## wherein A is sulfur or selenium; R is --OH, --OR.sub.4, --NH.sub.2, --NHR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.4 R.sub.6 ; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, --NH.sub.2, phenyl or naphthyl; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; R.sub.4 is --CONHR.sub.7, --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.5 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.6 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; and R.sub.7 is alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, tolyl, benzyl or cyclohexyl.
- 2. A compound represented by the formula ##STR31## wherein A is sulfur or selenium; R is --OH, --OR.sub.4, --NH.sub.2, --NHR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.4 R.sub.6 ; R.sub.2 and R.sub.8 are the same and are hydrogen, alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; R.sub.4 is --CONHR.sub.7, --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.5 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.6 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; and R.sub.7 is alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, tolyl, benzyl or cyclohexyl.
- 3. A compound as represented by the formula ##STR32## wherein A is sulfur or selenium; R is --OH, --OR.sub.4, --NH.sub.2, --NHR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.4 R.sub.6 ; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, --NH.sub.2, phenyl or naphthyl; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each are independently hydrogen, alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; R.sub.4 is --CONHR.sub.7, --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.5 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.6 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.7 is alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, tolyl, benzyl or cyclohexyl, and R.sub.9 is --OH, --COCH.sub.3, --OCOCH.sub.3, --SO.sub.2 NH.sub.2, --SO.sub.2 NHCH.sub.3, --SO.sub.2 NHC.sub.8 H.sub.17, --NHSO.sub.2 CH.sub.3, ##STR33## wherein Z is hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, benzyl, phenethyl or phenyl.
- 4. A compound represented by the formula ##STR34## wherein A is sulfur or selenium; R is --OH, --OR.sub.4, --NH.sub.2, --NHR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.4 R.sub.6 ; R.sub.2 and R.sub.8 are the same and are hydrogen, alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; R.sub.4 is --CONHR.sub.7, --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.5 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.6 is --COR.sub.7, --COOR.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.7 ; R.sub.7 is alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, tolyl, benzyl or cyclohexyl; and R.sub.9 is --OH, --COCH.sub.3, --OCOCH.sub.3, --SO.sub.2 NH.sub.2, --SO.sub.2 NHCH.sub.3, --SO.sub.2 NHC.sub.8 H.sub.17, --NHSO.sub.2 CH.sub.3, ##STR35## wherein Z is hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, benzyl, phenethyl or phenyl.
- 5. A compound as defined in claim 4 wherein A is sulfur.
- 6. A compound as defined in claim 5 wherein R.sub.9 is in the para position and is --OH.
