Claims
- 1. A method for preparing a therapeutic composition for alleviating peptic ulcer conditions in humans comprising:
- providing a batch of dried Indigofera arrecta plant leaves;
- forming a powder from said leaves;
- subjecting the powder to a hot water extraction process to thereby form an extract; and
- mixing said extract with an excipient carrier to form said composition, wherein said extract being present in said composition in an amount relative to said carrier which in dose form is effective for alleviating peptic ulcer conditions in humans.
- 2. A method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said extraction process comprises contacting said powder with hot water in a ratio of about 500 grams of powder to 3 liters of water.
- 3. A method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said extract is freeze dried after said extraction process.
- 4. A method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said excipient carrier comprises a mixture of magnesium carbonate, maize starch, talc and magnesium stearate.
- 5. A method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said composition comprises about 2.6 to about 4.3% by weight of said extract.
