Abstract
A pickle ball includes: a hollow ball with multiple holes on the surface, and a sound absorbing material filled to reduce noise inside the hollow ball, wherein the sound absorbing material includes a sponge, at least one or more LEDs are installed in the sound absorbing material, and a predetermined fluorescent material is applied to the surface of the hollow ball.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a pickle ball, and more particularly, to the pickle ball improved so as to reduce noise generated when hitting the ball with a pickleball paddle, and to arouse or enhance the interest of the pickleball match.

(b) Description of the Related Art

The sport of pickleball is being promoted mainly in the United States in recent years, and it is also the sport that combines several sports such as badminton, tennis, and table tennis.

In addition, pickleball paddles used for the pickleball match are used as rackets of tennis, badminton, or table tennis.

When the first pickle ball was made, it was named paddle because it used a paddle found nearby.

The pickleball paddle includes a wood paddle and a composite paddle.

All officially approved pickle balls can be used indoors or outdoors.

In addition, the pickle ball should be made of a durable material having a smooth surface and no texture, and should be of a single color except for the identification mark of the pickle ball.

The pickle ball may have a protrusion at the joint portion of the pickle ball as long as it does not significantly affect the straight flight characteristics.

In addition, the ball should have 26 to 40 circular holes, and the spacing of the holes and the overall design of the pickle ball allows the pickle ball to fly in a straight line.

As prior patents related to pickleball paddles and pickle balls, Publication No.: US 2021/0252357 and U.S. Pat. No. 8,357,062 disclose.

As described above, the conventional pickle ball is made of a durable material having a smooth surface and no texture, and the pickleball paddle is made of wood or composite.

For this reason, there is a problem in that a very loud noise is generated when the ball is hit with the pickleball paddle.

And since the pickle ball has a very simple shape, the pickleball match may become boring or less fun.

The above information disclosed in this background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the background of the invention and therefore it may contain information that does not form the prior art that is already known in this country to a person of ordinary skill in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is created to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide the pickle ball that reduces noise when hitting the pickle ball with the pickleball paddle and can induce or enhance interest in the pickleball match.

For achieving the above objects, the pickle ball of the present invention includes a hollow ball with multiple holes on the surface and a sound absorbing material filled to reduce noise inside the hollow ball.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to reduce the noise generated when the ball is hit with the pickleball paddle by filling the sound absorbing material inside the ball, and to induce or enhance interest in the pickleball match.

In addition, by providing an LED on the ball or applying a fluorescent material on the surface of the ball, it can be helpful for the pickleball match at night, and it can also improve the fun of the pickleball match.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the external configuration of the pickle ball according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

Hereinafter, referring to the drawings, a desirable exemplary embodiment will be described according to the present invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the external configuration of the ball according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of FIG. 1.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the pickle ball 100 according to the present invention is a hollow ball 10 having a hollow inside, and multiple holes 11 formed at regular intervals on the surface of the shell having a constant thickness.

The inside of the hollow ball 10 is filled with a sound absorbing material 20 for reducing noise.

The sound absorbing material 20 is inexpensive, easy to mold, light, and is configured to include a sponge having an excellent sound absorbing effect.

However, the sound absorbing material 20 is not limited to the sponge applied to the present invention, and the sound absorbing material 20 may use urethane foam or other foam materials.

In addition, a plurality of light emitting diodes(LEDs) 30 are installed in the sound absorbing material 20 to be exposed through the holes 11 of the hollow ball 10.

The LEDs 30 are installed in mounting holes 21 formed in the sound absorbing material 20 as shown in the cross-sectional view shown in FIG. 2.

And a predetermined fluorescent material 40 is applied to the surface of the hollow ball 10.

In addition, the hollow ball 10 is molded to be separable in half or in two, and these separated hollow balls 10 are joined to each other by fusion.

That is, as shown in FIG. 2, the hollow ball 10 includes a first hemisphere 10a, and a second hemisphere 10b coupled to the first hemisphere 10a by fusion.

After filling the sound absorbing material 20 in the first and second hemispheres 10a and 10b, as shown in FIG. 1, when the first and second hemispheres 10a and 10b are fused, a sealing line 13 is formed at the fusion part.

Hereinafter, an operation of the pickle ball according to the present invention having the configuration as described above will be described.

Referring back to FIGS. 1 and 2, the sound absorbing material 20 is placed in the first hemisphere 10a and the second hemisphere 10b.

Then, the first hemisphere 10a and the second hemisphere 10b are joined to form a sealing line 13 by fusion.

At this time, the LEDs 30 are exposed and installed on the sound absorbing material 20.

And as shown in FIG. 2, in order to install the LEDs 30 inside the sound absorbing material 20, although not shown in the drawing, the sound absorbing material 20 is can be also split in half as the first and second hemispheres 10a, 10b.

As described above, since the sound absorbing material 20 is filled in the ball 100 according to the present invention, it absorbs noise generated when the ball 100 is hit with the pickleball paddle.

Therefore, it is possible to reduce the noise generated during the pickleball match.

In addition, when the LEDs 30 installed to be exposed through the holes 11 of the hollow ball 10 are turned on, it is possible to easily play the pickleball match at night.

And the surface of the hollow ball 10 is coated with the fluorescent material 40, which is helpful for the pickleball match at night as well.

As describe, by providing the LEDs 30 and the fluorescent material 40 on the ball 100, the fun of the pickleball match can be doubled.

In addition, since the hollow ball 10 is formed to be separable in half, and the separated hollow ball 10 is bonded by fusion, the sound absorbing material 20 can be easily installed inside the hollow ball 10.

While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be practical exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
