Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a pickleball paddle. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pickleball paddle skin template.

Pickleball is an increasingly popular sport which involves players using specialized paddles to strike a ball. The pickleball paddle includes a handle and a planar striking surface with a solid exterior front and rear face that strikes the ball. While pickleball paddles are designed specifically to work well with the type of ball used in the pickleball game, there remains room for improvement.

For example, different individuals may have different styles of swinging the paddle and striking the ball. Some planar striking surfaces may impart greater spin for example, while others may have a greater impact force when striking the ball. In order to have options, the individual currently must purchase multiple pickleball paddles, which may be expensive. The same issue arises if the individual wishes to have different visual appearances for their paddle.

It is therefore desirable to provide a pickleball paddle skin template that may be used to customize the physical properties of a pickleball paddle facing as well as provide a desired visual appearance.

The pickleball paddle 100 may include a planar striking surface 110 and a handle 120.

The planar striking surface 110 may be configured to strike a pickleball (not shown) while playing a pickleball game. The planar striking surface 110 may include a solid first facing 112 and a solid second facing 114 for striking the pickle ball with either a forehand swing motion or a backhand swing motion. The planar striking surface 110 may have a shape 116 selected from the group consisting of a round shaped surface, a square shaped surface, or an octagonal shaped surface or the like.

The handle 120 may include a gripping surface 122 that is wrapped around the handle 120. The handle 120 may be attached to a centered outer edge 118 of the planar striking surface 110. The handle 120 may have a shape 124 selected from the group consisting of a flat handle shape, a cylindrical handle shape, or a square handle shape or the like.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown an overhead view of a first pickleball paddle skin template 200. The first pickleball paddle skin template 200 may be disposed on the solid first facing 112 and the solid second facing 114.

The first pickleball paddle skin template 200 may include a sporadically disposed textured grit 210 disposed across the first pickleball paddle skin template 200. The sporadically disposed textured grit 210 may be in a randomized pattern that helps to impart spin when striking the pickleball. The textured grit 210 may be made of material selected from the group consisting of sand, stone, glass, or the like.
