Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to sporting goods, and more particularly to a pickleball paddle having a texture thereon.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Pickleball is a very popular sport in the United States in recent years. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton sports. Pickleball has the advantages of fun, entertainment, diversified gameplay and strong adaptability, so it has gradually become popular in the world.

In a pickleball game, two players or four players hit a perforated hollow polymer ball over a net by using paddles. A conventional pickleball paddle on the market includes a paddle body and a handle connected to the paddle body. The paddle body includes a substrate layer and a fiber face sheet. The fiber face sheet overlays either surface of the substrate layer. In order to control the ball well, the outer surface of the fiber face sheet is formed with a texture to increase the friction of the surface of the paddle when hitting the ball. In the prior art, there are two methods for increasing the friction of the surface of the paddle when hitting the ball.

The first method is that a resin film is attached to the outer surface of the fiber face sheet, and then the resin film is bonded on the surface of the fiber face sheet by extruding via a release fabric. After the release fabric is torn off, the texture of the release fabric is printed on the surface of the resin film to form a rough surface for improving the friction of the surface of the paddle when hitting the ball. With the texture configured to improve the friction of the surface of the paddle effectively when hitting a ball, in use, the player can swing the paddle to control the ball well, so as to control the direction of hitting the ball effectively. However, for the first method, the production process is complex, the efficiency is low, and the texture is easy to peel off. Besides, because the texture is formed on the surface of the resin film, it is impossible to make a beautification design on the surface of the resin film, and the resin film needs to be bonded with the fiber face sheet. If the beautification design is done on the fiber face sheet, it will affect the connection of the resin film and the fiber face sheet. The above-mentioned structure is not conducive to the beautification design of the product, thus failing to meet the aesthetic requirements of the product.

The second method is that a coating with particles is sprayed on the fiber face sheet. The particles are configured to roughen the surface of the coating. However, after a period of use, the coating is prone to peeling off. In addition, in order to beautify the design, in the prior art, a pattern layer is disposed on the fiber face sheet, and then a coating with particles is sprayed on the pattern layer. However, the pattern layer will affect the connection of the coating and the fiber face sheet, which also makes the coating prone to peeling off.

The foregoing two methods cannot meet the requirements of both aesthetics and durability. It is necessary to improve the conventional pickleball paddle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the drawbacks of the prior art, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a pickleball paddle, which can solve the problem that the conventional pickleball paddle cannot meet the requirements of both aesthetics and durability.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention adopts the following technical solutions:

A pickleball paddle comprises a paddle body and a handle connected to the paddle body. The paddle body includes a substrate layer and a fiber face sheet. The fiber face sheet overlays either surface of the substrate layer. A coating is provided on an outer surface of the fiber face sheet. An outer surface of the coating has a texture formed by directly pressing the coating.

Preferably, a pattern layer is provided on the outer surface of the fiber face sheet. The coating is a transparent coating. The coating covers the pattern layer, so that the product is more beautiful.

Preferably, the fiber face sheet is made of a carbon fiber material or a glass fiber material.

Preferably, the coating is a semi-gloss oil-based coating or a full-gloss oil-based coating, so as to provide a semi-dull or full-dull, semi-matte or full-matte effect.

Compared with the prior art, the present invention has obvious advantages and beneficial effects. Specifically, it can be known from the above technical solutions: As disclosed in the present invention, the feature of the present invention is described below. The coating is provided on the outer surface of the fiber face sheet. The outer surface of the coating has the texture formed by directly pressing the coating. The structure and production process of the present invention are simple, and the efficiency is high. The internal structure of the fiber face sheet won't be damaged, so as to ensure the structural strength. It is conducive to the beautification design of the product, meeting the aesthetic requirement of the product. The texture will never peel off, which fully meets the requirement of the durability of the product. The product is beautiful and durable and is worth promoting and using.

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1-3, the specific structure of a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a paddle body 10 and a handle 20 connected to the paddle body 10.

The paddle body 10 includes a substrate layer 11 and a fiber face sheet 12. The fiber face sheet 12 overlays either surface of the substrate layer 11. A coating 13 is provided on the outer surface of the fiber face sheet 12. The outer surface of the coating 13 has a texture 101 formed by directly pressing the coating 13. In this embodiment, the fiber face sheet 12 is made of a carbon fiber material or a glass fiber material, and has good structural strength. The coating 13 is a semi-gloss oil-based coating or a full-gloss oil-based coating to provide a semi-dull or full-dull, semi-matte or full-matte effect.

The handle 20 is integrally formed with the paddle body 10. Specifically, the handle 20 extends backward from the substrate layer 11 and the fiber face sheet 12 to form an integral structure. The structure is more stable and reliable.

The production process of the first embodiment is described in detail as follows:

In production, the substrate layer 11 is first produced, and then the fiber face sheet 12 is bonded to the surface of the substrate layer 11 by pressing. Then, the outer surface of the fiber face sheet 12 is coated with the coating 13. Finally, the outer surface of the coating 13 is pressed to form the texture 101 by using a stamper.

FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 illustrate the specific structure of a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is substantially similar to the first embodiment with the exceptions described hereinafter.

In the second embodiment, a pattern layer 14 is provided on the outer surface of the fiber face sheet 12. The coating 13 is a transparent coating. The coating 13 covers the pattern layer 14 to make the product more attractive in appearance and protect the pattern layer 14 well. The pattern layer 14 may be formed by spraying or printing, but not limited thereto.

The production process of the second embodiment is described in detail as follows:

In production, the substrate layer 11 is first produced, and then the fiber face sheet 12 is bonded to the surface of the substrate layer 11 by pressing. Then, the outer surface of the fiber face sheet 12 is formed with the pattern layer 14 by spraying or printing. Next, the outer surface of the pattern layer 14 is coated with a full-gloss oil-based paint to form the coating 13. The coating 13 is configured to protect the pattern layer 14. Finally, the outer surface of the coating 13 is pressed to form the texture 101 by using a stamper.
