Claims
- 1. An image pickup apparatus comprising:
- image pickup means for converting an optical image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- recording means for recording the electrical image signal from said image pickup means;
- vibration detection means for detecting a vibration amount of an image pickup apparatus main body, and for providing a detection output;
- optical axis decentering means for decentering an optical axis to cause the optical image to coincide with a predetermined position on the image pickup plane of said image pickup means;
- driving control means for controlling a decentering amount of said optical axis decentering means on the basis of the detection output from said vibration detection means; and
- control means for discriminating whether the decentering amount is lower than a predetermined amount of said optical axis by said optical axis decentering means, and for controlling said optical axis decentering means according to the discrimination so as to maintain an optical axis decentering position of said optical axis decentering means at a current position if the decentering amount of said optical axis by said optical axis decentering means is lower than the predetermined amount.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein when a recording operation of said recording means is stopped, said control means releases the held optical axis decentering position of said optical axis decentering means.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said optical axis decentering means comprises a variable angle prism.
- 4. An image pickup apparatus comprising:
- (a) image pickup means for converting an optical image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- (b) recording/reproduction means for recording the electrical image signal from said image pickup means, and for reproducing a recorded signal;
- (c) vibration detection means for detecting a vibration amount of an image pickup apparatus main body, and for providing a detection output;
- (d) optical compensating means for shifting an optical axis to cause the optical image to coincide with a predetermined position on the image pickup plane of said image pickup means;
- (e) driving control means for controlling a shifting amount of said optical compensating means on the basis of the detection output from said vibration detection means; and
- (f) control means for discriminating whether said recording/reproduction means performs a reproduction operation of the recorded signal, and for controlling said driving control means according to the discrimination so as to automatically inhibit the driving of said optical compensating means based on the detection output of said vibration detection means during the reproduction operation of the recorded signal.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said optical axis decentering means comprises a variable angle prism.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said control means locks a position of said optical axis decentering means during reproduction.
- 7. A video camera apparatus comprising:
- (a) image pickup means for converting an optical image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- (b) vibration detection means for detecting a vibration of a video camera body;
- (c) compensating means for compensating said vibration detected by said vibration detection means;
- (d) recording/reproducing means for recording the image signal output from said image pickup means on a recording medium and for reproducing a recorded signal from said recording medium; and
- (e) control means for discriminating whether said recording/reproducing means performs a reproduction operation of the recorded signal, and for controlling said compensating means according to the discrimination so as to automatically inhibit a compensation operation of said compensating means during the reproduction operation regardless of a detection output of said vibration detecting means.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said vibration detection means physically detects a vibration of said video camera body.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said compensating means comprises a variable angle prism which varies an optical axis and a drive circuit for driving said variable angle prism.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said variable angle prism is arranged at the head portion of a lens optical system of said video camera body.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said compensating means is automatically put into an operation state when said vibration detecting means detects that vibration of said video camera body exceeds a predetermined level.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said control means turns off power of said compensating means when said recording/reproducing means is in a reproduction mode.
- 13. A video camera apparatus comprising:
- (a) image pickup means for converting an optical image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- (b) vibration detection means for detecting a vibration of a video camera body;
- (c) compensating means for compensating said vibration detected by said vibration detection means;
- (d) switching means for enabling and disabling said compensating means;
- (e) recording/reproducing means for recording the image signal output from said image pickup means on a recording medium and for reproducing a recorded signal from said recording medium; and
- (f) control means for changing discriminating an operation state of said recording/reproducing means at a time when said compensating means is disabled, and for controlling a subsequent operation of a stop operation of said compensating means according to the discrimination by different manners.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 13, wherein said control means maintains said compensating means at a current position for a predetermined time and then returns said compensating means to an initial position, if said recording/reproducing means is on a recording operation when said compensating means is disabled by said switching means.
- 15. An apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said control means maintains said compensating means at the current position if said recording/reproducing means is in a REC pause state when said compensating means is disabled by said switching means.
- 16. An apparatus according to claim 15, wherein said control means maintains said compensating means at the current position for a predetermined time and then returns said compensating means to the initial position, if said recording/reproducing means is not in both recording state and REC pause state when said compensating means is disabled by said control means.
- 17. An apparatus according to claim 13, wherein said compensating means comprises a variable angle prism which varies an optical axis and a drive circuit for driving said variable angle prism and said variable angle prism is arranged at the head portion of an lens optical system of said video camera body.
- 18. Apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said compensating means is automatically put into an operation state when said detection means detects that vibration of said video camera body exceeds a predetermined level.
- 19. A video camera apparatus comprising:
- image pickup means for converting an image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- detection means for detecting a shake of said apparatus;
- compensating means for compensating a movement of the image caused by the shake detected by said detection means;
- recording/reproducing means for recording the image signal output from said image pickup means on a recording medium, and for reproducing a recorded signal from said recording medium; and
- control means for controlling said compensating means to automatically inhibit a compensation operation of said compensating means in the reproduction operation of said recording/reproducing means.
- 20. Apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said detection means physically detects a vibration of said video camera.
- 21. Apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said compensating means comprises (i) a variable angle prism which varies an optical axis, and (ii) a drive circuit for driving said variable angle prism.
- 22. Apparatus according to claim 21, wherein said variable angle prism is disposed at a head portion of a lens optical system of said video camera.
- 23. Apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said control means turns off power to said compensating means when said recording/reproducing means is in a reproduction mode.
- 24. A video camera apparatus comprising:
- image pickup means for converting an optical image on an image pickup plane into an electrical image signal;
- detection means for detecting a shake of said apparatus;
- compensating means for compensating movement of the image caused by the shake detected by said detection means;
- reproducing means for reproducing a recorded signal from a recording medium; and
- control means for controlling said compensating means to automatically inhibit a compensation operation of said compensating means in the reproduction operation of said reproducing means.
- 25. Apparatus according to claim 24, wherein said detection means physically detects a vibration of said video camera body.
- 26. Apparatus according to claim 24, wherein said compensating means comprises (i) a variable angle prism which varies an optical axis, and (ii) a drive circuit for driving said variable angle prism.
- 27. Apparatus according to claim 24, wherein said control means turns off power to said compensating means when said reproducing means is in a reproduction mode.
