Claims
- 1. A composition for enhancing weight gain in a mammal comprising from about 15.5 to 31.2 weight % palmitic acid, from about 13.5 to about 31.2 weight % oleic acid, and from about 29.5 to about 47.2 weight % linoleic acid.
- 2. The composition according to claim 1, comprising between about 18% to 31.2% (w %/w %) palmitic acid, about 34.3% to 47.2% (w %/w %) linoleic acid and about 28.7% to 31.2% (w %/w %) oleic acid and ester or salt derivatives thereof.
- 3. The composition according to claim 1, comprising between about 18% to 31.2% (w %/w %) palmitic acid, about 34.3% to 47.2% (w %/w %) linoleic acid, about 8.7% to 16% (w %/w %) palmitoleic acid and about 15.7% to 30.7% (w %/w %) oleic acid and ester or salt derivatives thereof.
- 4. The composition according to claim 1, further comprising a nontoxic filler compound.
- 5. The composition according to claim 4, wherein said nontoxic filler compound is selected from the group of alcohols, amines, squalene and glycerol.
- 6. A composition for enhancing weight gain in a mammal comprising ester or salt derivatives of palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid in amounts from about 15.5 to 31.2 weight %, from about 13.5 to about 31.2 weight % and from about 29.5 to about 47.2 weight %, respectively.
- 7. A solution for enhancing weight gain in a mammal comprising:
- capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid and linoleic acid and a solvent, wherein said solution comprises a greater weight percentage of linoleic acid than oleic acid.
- 8. The solution according to claim 7, wherein said solution comprises:
- 0.5% to 3.5% capric acid;
- 2.8% to 8.7% lauric acid;
- 3.9% to 9.6% myristic acid;
- 7.5% to 13.8% palmitoleic acid;
- 15.5% to 26.8% palmitic acid;
- 29.5% to 40.6% linoleic acid;
- 13.5% to 26.4% oleic acid; and a solvent.
- 9. The solution according to claim 7, wherein said solution comprises:
- 0.5% to 3.5% capric acid;
- 2.8% to 8.7% lauric acid;
- 3.9% to 9.6% myristic acid;
- 7.5% to 13.8% palmitoleic acid;
- 15.5% to 26.8% palmitic acid;
- 29.5% to 40.6% linoleic acid;
- 24.7% to 36.8% oleic acid; and a solvent.
- 10. A method for enhancing weight gain in a mammal said method comprising the step of administering to a mammal in need of such enhancement a weight gain enhancing amount of a composition comprising:
- from about 15.5 to 31.2 weight % palmitic acid, from about 13.5 to about 31.2 weight % oleic and from about 29.5 to about 47.2 weight % linoleic acid.
- 11. A method for enhancing weight gain in a mammal said method comprising the step of administering to a mammal in need of such enhancement a weight gain enhancing amount of a composition comprising:
- a solution of capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid and linoleic acid and a solvent, wherein said solution comprises a greater weight percentage of linoleic acid than oleic acid.
- 12. The method according to claim 11, wherein said solution comprises:
- 0.5% to 3.5% capric acid;
- 2.8% to 8.7% lauric acid;
- 3.9% to 9.6% myristic acid;
- 7.5% to 13.8% palmitoleic acid;
- 15.5% to 26.8% palmitic acid;
- 29.5% to 40.6% linoleic acid;
- 13.5% to 26.4% oleic acid; and a solvent.
- 13. A method for enhancing weight gain in a mammal said method comprising the step of administering to a mammal in need of such enhancement a weight gain enhancing amount of a composition comprising:
- 0.5% to 3.5% capric acid;
- 2.8% to 8.7% lauric acid;
- 3.9% to 9.6% myristic acid;
- 7.5% to 13.8% palmitoleic acid;
- 15.5% to 26.8% palmitic acid;
- 29.5% to 40.6% linoleic acid;
- 24.7% to 36.8% oleic acid; and a solvent.
