Claims
- 1. A method of making a fluid pump for pumping a volume of fluid under pressure from a fluid source to a fluid dispenser, the fluid pump having an electric motor, a pump drive assembly being operably coupled to the motor for being actuated thereby, a pump assembly, operably coupled to the pump drive assembly and being fluidly communicable with the source of fluid, the pump assembly being actuatable by the pump drive assembly, comprising:forming a single main housing of a metal containing aluminum; defining a pump assembly housing therein for housing at least in part the pump assembly; defining a pump housing, the pump housing being integral and unitary with the main housing for housing the pump assembly; and defining a pump housing cylinder bore in the main housing.
- 2. The method of claim 1 further including:forming at least one bushing of a metal containing zinc; and disposing the bushing in the pump housing cylinder bore.
- 3. The method of claim 2 further including:forming a piston of a ferric metal; and translatably disposing the piston in a bore defined in the bushing and in the pump housing cylinder bore.
- 4. The method of claim 1 further including machining the pump housing cylinder bore from a cylinder bore first end only.
- 5. A method of making a fluid pump for pumping a volume of fluid under pressure from a fluid source to a fluid dispenser, the fluid pump having an electric motor, a pump drive assembly being operably coupled to the motor for being actuated thereby, a pump assembly, operably coupled to the pump drive assembly and being fluidly communicable with the source of fluid, the pump assembly being actuatable by the pump drive assembly, comprising:forming a single main housing; defining a pump assembly housing therein for housing at least in part the pump assembly; defining a pump housing, the pump housing being integral and unitary with the main housing for housing the pump assembly; and forming a yoke assembly of a metal containing zinc.
