Claims
- 1. A method for sewing along a segmented edge on a piece of material, comprising the steps of:
- clamping said material along said segmented edge with a plurality of clamps, said clamps being arranged for pivoting with respect to each other and having adjustable clamp spacing;
- pivoting said clamps while adjusting said clamp spacing, thereby to straighten said edge;
- and transporting said clamps and said straightened edge past the sewing head of a sewing machine, thereby to sew along said edge.
- 2. A method as specified in claim 1 wherein there is provided a further step of clamping said material with an additional clamp arranged between adjacent clamps of said plurality of clamps.
- 3. A method as specified in claim 1 wherein there is provided a further step of cutting said material to form said segmented edge.
- 4. A method as specified in claim 1 wherein there is provided a further step of supplying a strip of material to said sewing machine for sewing onto said segmented edge.
- 5. A method as specified in claim 1 wherein there is provided a further step of stacking said material following said transporting and sewing.
