Claims
- 1. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a first brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, and a second brake for limiting rotation of the planetary carrier, thus an output being able to be taken out from a ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear.
- 2. A planetary gear train of an automatic transmission as set forth in claim 1, in which the first stator is connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction.
- 3. A planetary gear train of an automatic transmission as set forth in claim 1, in which said first brake works to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected.
- 4. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a first brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, a second brake for limiting rotation of the planetary carrier, thus an output being able to be taken out from a ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said first brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, the sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear and a third brake for reverse speed being equipped to an end portion of said turbine shaft, said second brake and a clutch for third speed for limiting rotation of said planetary carrier, said clutch being connected to said turbine shaft for engaging or disengaging said shaft.
- 5. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a first brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, a second brake for limiting rotation of the planetary carrier, thus an output being able to be taken out from a ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said first brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, the sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear being equipped to an end portion of said turbine shaft, said second brake and a clutch for first speed being actuated for limiting rotation of said planetary carrier, said clutch being equipped to said turbine shaft for engaging or disengaging said shaft, and further a clutch interposed between said second brake for first speed and said planetary carrier.
- 6. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, thus an output being able to be taken out from a ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, a brake for reverse speed being connected to an end portion of said turbine shaft, a brake for first speed for limiting rotation of said planetary carrier and a second clutch, said second clutch being connected to said turbine shaft and said sun gear meshing with the planetary gear being connected through a first clutch to said turbine shaft.
- 7. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, thus an output being able to be taken out from a ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, the sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear being connected to the end of said turbine shaft through a first clutch, a brake for reverse speed being equipped to an end portion of said turbine shaft, a brake for first speed and a second clutch limit rotation of said planetary carrier, said second clutch being connected to said turbine shaft, said sun gear meshing with the planetary gear being connected through a first clutch to said turbine shaft, and a third clutch interposed between said planetary carrier and said first speed brake.
- 8. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, a clutch interposed between said stator cylindrical shaft and the turbine shaft or between the sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear and the turbine shaft, a brake for limiting rotation of the ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, thus an output being able to be taken out from an output gear connected to the planetary carrier.
- 9. A planetary gear train of an automatic transmission as set forth in claim 8, in which the first stator is connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction.
- 10. A planetary gear train of an automatic transmission as set forth in claim 8, in which said brake for limiting the rotation of said stator shaft limits the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected.
- 11. A planetary gear train of an automatic transmission as set forth in claim 8, in which the clutch works to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft in a low speed ratio zone when a third speed is selected.
- 12. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a first brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, a clutch interposed between said stator cylindrical shaft and the turbine shaft, a second brake for limiting rotation of the ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, thus an output being able to be taken out from an output gear connected to the planetary carrier, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio one where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said first brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, said clutch working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft in a low speed ratio zone when a third speed is selected, the sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear being connected to an end portion of said stator cylindrical shaft, and a brake for reverse speed being equipped to an end portion of said turbine shaft.
- 13. In an automatic transmission wherein a Ravineaux's planetary gear train including a single row planetary gear and a double row planetary gear both having one planetary carrier in common, is disposed at a rear stage of a four-element torque converter comprising two stators, a turbine and a pump; a planetary gear train of the automatic transmission including a turbine shaft connecting the turbine to a sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, a stator cylindrical shaft connecting a first stator to a sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear, a first brake for limiting rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft, a first clutch interposed between a sun gear meshing with said single row planetary gear and the turbine shaft, a second brake for limiting rotation of the ring gear meshing with the single row planetary gear, thus an output being able to be taken out from an output gear connected to the planetary carrier, said first stator being connected to the stator cylindrical shaft through a one-way clutch which connects the former to the latter in a low speed ratio zone where the first stator rotates in a reverse direction and runs idle in a high speed ratio zone where the first stator is switched to rotate in a normal direction, said first brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft when a second speed is selected, the sun gear meshing with the double row planetary gear being connected to an end portion of said stator cylindrical shaft, the sun gear meshing with the single row planetary gear and a brake for third speed being equipped to an end portion of said turbine shaft, and a brake for first speed for limiting rotation of said ring gear, said first brake working to limit the rotation of the stator cylindrical shaft in a low speed ratio zone when a second speed is selected, and a second clutch interposed between the ring gear and the turbine shaft.
