This planning proposal, submitted by University of Hampshire (UNH) is focused in conducting three workshops and a leadership team retreat to mature the selected project concept and team, using a collaborative, inclusive approach to proposal development and project implementation, and a long-range plan to sustain the project activities. Activities will focus on capacity building, engaging the full allotment of state partners and resources, improving team science approaches, and proactively planning for sustainability and success. The selection process resulted on the topic of Microbiome Science Enabled through Environmental Genomic Approaches, which is properly aligned with the New Hampshire University Research and Industry Plan (NHURIP).<br/><br/>This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
