Claims
- 1. A plate type evaporator comprising a plurality of vertically extending plate elements assembled face-to-face to define therebetween alternate channels for a heating medium and for a liquid to be evaporated, a liquid circulation passageway establishing communication between the top and bottom of said liquid channels, a vapor taking-out port provided in the top of said circulation passageway, and a liquid supplying nozzle provided in said circulation passageway for supplying liquid to compensate for the amount evaporated, said circulation passageway allowing the natural circulation of the liquid which is brought about by the pumping effect due to the evaporation of liquid, the injection of the supply liquid from said nozzle accelerating said circulation, whereby flow is imparted to the liquid along the heat transfer surfaces of the plate elements, each plate element being formed with a porous layer on its heat transfer surface facing the associated liquid channel.
