Claims
- 1. A set of playing cards, comprising:
a plurality of playing cards divided into first, second and third suits with each suit being divided into a predetermined number of said cards, each of said cards of said first, second and third suits having a non-rectangular shape; and historical indicia of an ancient culture being disposed on at least one side of each of said cards of said first, second and third suits, said historical indicia having first, second and third distinct categories associated with said first, second and third suits, respectively.
- 2. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
each of said cards has a substantially triangular shape.
- 3. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
said predetermined number of said cards of each of said first, second and third suits is 14.
- 4. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
said historical indicia is the culture of ancient Egypt.
- 5. A set of playing cards according to claim 4, wherein
said first category of said historical indicia is a pyramid; said second category of said historical indicia is an ankh; and said third category of said historical indicia is a sphinx.
- 6. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
said cards of said first, second and third suits, respectfully, include cards that are consecutively numbered and at least one card that is non-numbered.
- 7. A set of playing cards according to claim 6, wherein
said consecutively numbered cards include the numbers two through eleven; and said non-numbered card includes indicia selected from the group consisting of a priest, a queen, a pharaoh and a Ra.
- 8. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
said historical indicia is disposed on at least one card not included with said first, second and third suits.
- 9. A set of playing cards according to claim 8, wherein
said historical indicia disposed on said one card is selected from the group consisting of a mummy and doghead.
- 10. A set of playing cards according to claim 1, wherein
a substantially triangular shaped box supports said plurality of playing cards.
- 11. A method of playing card games with a set of forty-two playing cards, comprising the steps of:
providing a plurality of playing cards divided into first, second and third suits with each suit being divided into fourteen cards, each of the cards of the first, second and third suits having a non-rectangular shape and including historical indicia of an ancient culture, the historical indicia having first, second and third distinct categories associated with the first, second and third suits, respectively; assigning point values to each of the cards of each of the first, second and third suits with ten of the fourteen cards of each suit being assigned and marked with numbers two through eleven consecutively and four of the fourteen cards of each suit being non-numbered with point values higher than the two through eleven cards; dealing a pre-selected number of the playing cards to at least one player; and determining a winner based on play with the preselected number of playing cards.
- 12. A method according to claim 11, further comprising the step of:
providing additional cards with the historical indicia thereon that can have any point value with the historical indicia of the additional cards being selected from the group of a mummy and a doghead.
- 13. A method according to claim 11, wherein
each of the plurality of cards are substantially triangular in shape.
- 14. A method according to claim 11, wherein
the historical indicia of the four non-numbered cards of each of the first, second and third suits is selected from the group of a priest, a queen, a pharaoh and a Ra.
- 15. A method according to claim 14, further comprising the step of:
assigning point values to the four non-numbered cards of each suit in ascending order beginning with the historical indicia of the priest, the queen, the pharaoh and the Ra.
- 16. A one-piece blank for a playing card box, comprising:
a first substantially triangular main panel with first, second and third edges, said first, second and third edges being substantially the same in length; a first substantially rectangular side panel with first and second edges, said first edges of said first side panel being hinged to said first edge of said first main panel; a second substantially rectangular side panel with first and second edges, said first edges of said second side panel being hinged to said second edge of said first main panel; a second substantially triangular main panel with first, second and third edges, said first, second and third edges being substantially the same in length; and a third substantially rectangular side panel with first and second edges, said first edge of said third side panel being hinged to said second edge of said second main panel.
- 17. A one-piece blank according to claim 16, wherein
a first flap is hinged to said second edge of said first side panel; and a second flap is hinged to said second edge of said third side panel.
- 18. A one-piece blank according to claim 17, wherein
one of said first and second flaps includes adhesive.
- 19. A one-piece blank according to claim 16, wherein
any one of said first and second main panels and said first, second third side panels includes historical indicia of an ancient culture.
