Claims
- 1. A pneumatic control system for ophthalmic microsurgical console constructed as a module for easy placement and connection into a larger cabinet for the console, comprising: at least three air pressure regulators; at least four solenoid control valves; a plurality of air pressure sensing devices; a drawer assembly having a generally planar bottom structure, first and second side wall structures arranged parallel to one another and extending upwardly from the bottom, and a third wall structure arranged generally perpendicularly to the side walls and extending upwardly from the bottom structure, the regulators, solenoid control valves and air pressure sensing devices all being located substantially within and mounted to the drawer assembly.
- 2. A control system as in claim 1, further comprising: a multi-pin electrical connector assembly; a plurality of quick-connect electrical terminals; bracket means mounted to the drawer structure for supporting the pressure sensing devices, the multi-pin electrical connector assembly and the plurality of electrical terminals; and a plurality of electrical conductors extending between the quick-connect electrical terminals and the multi-pin electrical connector assembly, and wherein the plurality of air pressure sensing devices includes at least two pressure transducers.
- 3. A control system as in claim 1, further comprising: low pressure accumulator means, forming pad of an intraocular pressure system, for temporary storage of low pressure air, the accumulator means including a flexible expandable bladder made at least in pad with soft pliant material; and housing means for protecting the bladder of the accumulator means from accidental damage, the housing means being rigidly attached to and located within the drawer structure.
- 4. A control system as in claim 3, wherein: the air pressure regulators are arranged in a line, the solenoid control valves are arranged in a line, and the control system further comprises: a main air supply connector mounted to and extending outside of the drawer assembly and arranged substantially in line with the line of air pressure regulators.
