Claims
- 1. A pneumatic tire comprising a tread made from a rubber composition comprising 10-150 parts by weight of a silica filler, not more than 150 parts by weight of carbon black, wherein said carbon black and silica filler are present in a weight ratio of 95/5-10/90, and 0.2-10 parts by weight of at least one silane coupling agent represented by the following general formula:
- Y.sub.3 --Si--C.sub.n H.sub.2n A (I)
- (wherein Y is an alkyl group or alkoxyl group having a carbon number of 1-4 or a chlorine atom, provided that the three Y's are the same or different, n is an integer of 1-6, and A is an --S.sub.m C.sub.n H.sub.2n Si--Y.sub.3 group, an --X group or an S.sub.m Z group (in which X is a nitroso group, a mercapto group, an amino group, an epoxy group, a vinyl group, an imido group or a chlorine atom, Z is a: ##STR3## group, each of m and n is an integer of 1-6 and Y is the same as mentioned above)), based on 100 parts by weight of a polymer or copolymer rubber having a glass transition temperature of not lower than -50.degree. C. obtained by polymerization of 1,3-butadiene or copolymerization of 1,3-butadiene and styrene in an inert organic solvent with an organic alkali metal initiator, or a rubber blend of not less than 30 parts by weight of the above polymer or copolymer and not more than 70 parts by weight of another diene series rubber.
- 2. The pneumatic tire according to claim 1, wherein said copolymer has a content of bound styrene of 15-50% by weight.
- 3. The pneumatic tire according to claim 1, wherein the amount of single chain styrene introduced into the copolymer is less than 40% by weight of the total bound styrene content and the amount of long chain styrene having 8 or more styrene units is not less than 10% by weight of the total bound styrene content.
- 4. The pneumatic tire according to claim 1, wherein said rubber composition contains 15-100 parts by weight of said silica filler and 0.5-5 parts by weight of said silane coupling agent.
- 5. The pneumatic tire according to claim 1, wherein said another diene series rubber is selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, cis-1,4-polyisoprene, emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadienecopolymer, solution-polymerizedstyrene-butadiene copolymer, low cis-1,4-polybutadiene, high cis-1,4-polybutadiene, ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer, chloroprene, halogenated butyl rubber and butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer rubber.
