Claims
- 1. A method for the use of a polyacetylene composite, characterized by using as a negative electrode active substance for a secondary battery an n-doped polyacetylene composite coated with at least one ionic organic compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR30## wherein M denotes at least one member selected from the group of alkali metals; X and Y are the same or different and represent --O or ##STR31## R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 each are at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl groups of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy groups of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 in combination form a cyclic structure.
- 2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the ionic organic compound represented by the general formula (I) is an ortho-ester derivative represented by the general formula (II): ##STR32## wherein M denotes at least one member selected from the group of alkali metals, Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 are the same or different and each denotes a straight-chain alkylene group of 2 to 5 carbon atoms, a straight-chain alkylene group of 2 to 5 carbon atoms substituted by at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of halogen atoms, alkyl groups, and aryl groups, or a group of the formula ##STR33## where n denotes an integer of 2 to 5.
- 3. A method according to claim 1, wherein the ionic organic compound represented by the general formula (I) is an alkoxide derivative of 1,2-glycol.
- 4. A method according to claim 1, wherein the ionic organic compound represented by the general formula (I) is a semicarbonic ester derivative of 1,2-glycol.
- 5. A method according to claim 1, wherein M is at least one member selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium, and potassium.
- 6. A method according to claim 1, wherein M is lithium.
- 7. A method according to claim 1, wherein Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each are at least one member selected from the group consisting of --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, ##STR34## --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, and --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --.
- 8. A method according to claim 1, wherein Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each are --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --.
- 9. A method according to claim 1, wherein Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each are ##STR35##
- 10. A method according to claim 1, wherein a positive electrode active substance is Li.sub.1-x CoO.sub.2 (where 0.ltoreq.X.ltoreq.1).
