Claims
- 1. A polyalkene composition having improved dyeability which contains 0.5 to 10 wt. percent of a solid polyamide having an acid value of less than 10 and amine value from 75 to 150 and consisting essentially of repeating groups obtained from
- (a) an aliphatic diamine having 2 to 3 carbon atoms between the nitrogen atoms;
- (b) a triamine having the formula ##STR6## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are saturated hydrocarbon radicals containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms;
- (c) an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having from 6 to 19 carbon atoms; and
- (d) a polymeric fatty acid obtained by the polymerization of a C.sub.16-22 unsaturated fatty acid;
- the molar ratio of (a) to (b) ranging from 0.4:1 to 1.5:1 and the polymeric fatty acid being present in an amount up to 35 mol percent of the total dicarboxylic acids.
- 2. The polyalkene composition of claim 1 wherein the polyalkene is selected from the group polyethylene, polypropylene and poly(4-methylpentene-1).
- 3. The polyalkene composition of claim 2 containing 3 to 10 wt. percent polyamide derived from (a) ethylene diamine, (b) N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)methyl amine, (c) an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and (d) a polymeric fatty acid containing at least 75% by weight C.sub.36 dimer acid.
- 4. The polyalkene composition of claim 3 wherein the molar ratio of (a) to (b) is from 0.4:1 to 0.8:1 and which contains 3 to 25 mol percent polymeric fatty acid based on the total dicarboxylic acids.
