Claims
- 1. Electrocoatable polyimide salt having from about 5 mole percent to 100 mole percent of chemically combined radicals of the formula, ##STR24## where M is a base cation having an ionization constant greater than 10.sup.-2 in water at 25.degree. C, and Q is a divalent organo radical free of aliphatic unsaturation.
- 2. Electrocoatable polyimide salt having from about 5 mole percent to 100 mole percent of chemically combined radicals selected from the group consisting of ##STR25## and mixtures thereof, where Q and M are as previously defined in claim 1.
- 3. Electrocoatable polyimide acid having from about 5 mole percent to 100 mole percent of chemically combined radicals selected from the group consisting of, ##STR26## and mixtures thereof, where Q is a divalent organo radical free of aliphatic unsaturation.
- 4. The amine salt of the imide acid of claim 3.
