Claims
- 1. A polyamide copolymer, comprising repeating units having the formulae (I) and (II) described below wherein a repeating unit of the formula (II) is contained therein in an amount of at least 10 mol. %, said polyamide copolymer having a number average molecular weight of 5,000 to 250,000: ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1, R'.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which are the same or different, each represents a hydrocarbon residue and A represents a segment containing at least 30 mol. % of a repeating unit of the formula (VI) described below: ##STR8## wherein R.sub.4 represents a combination of a branched hydrocarbon residue and a linear hydrocarbon residue.
- 2. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 1, wherein said linear hydrocarbon residue of R.sub.4 has 2 to 16 carbon atoms.
- 3. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 1, wherein said branched aliphatic hydrocarbon residue of R.sub.4 has 2 to 16 carbon atoms.
- 4. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 3, wherein said branched aliphatic hydrocarbon having 2 to 16 carbon atoms is at least one residue selected from the group consisting of: ##STR9##
- 5. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 1, wherein R.sub.4 is a combination of two hydrocarbon residues having the formulae (VIII) and (IX): ##STR10## in a molar ratio of (VIII)/(IX) of 5/95 to 80/20.
- 6. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 1, wherein A is a divalent residue of a polycarbonate having a molecular weight of 300 to 8,000.
- 7. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 1, wherein -A- is a divalent group represented by the formula (VII): ##STR11## wherein l represents O or an integer of 1 to 100, m represents 0 or an integer of 1 to 100, n represents 0 or an integer of 1 to 100; R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, which are the same or different, each represents a hydrocarbon residue; provided that when m is 1 or more, l and n are not 0 simultaneously and when m is 2 or more, l is not 0.
- 8. The polyamide copolymer as claimed in claim 7, wherein R.sub.5 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue having 2 to 16 carbon atoms or an aromatic hydrocarbon residue having 6 to 16 carbon atoms or both.
