Claims
- 1. A process of dyeing polyamide fibers with a dyestuff of the formula ##STR14## wherein M is hydrogen, lithium, sodium, potassium or ammonium;
- B and D are each independently 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-naphthylene;
- A.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, chloro, bromo, cyano or hydroxy;
- B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1-3 alkoxy, C.sub.1-3 alkyl, chloro or bromo;
- D.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or chloro;
- D.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, chloro, bromo, fluoro, C.sub.1-5 alkanoylamino, C.sub.1-5 alkylsulfonylamino, benzoylamino, or benzenesulfonylamino, the acylamino groups either unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 3 C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, chloro, bromo, cyano, or hydroxy; and
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 chloro or bromoalkyl, C.sub.2-6 hydroxy or dihydroxyalkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 cyanoalkyl or phenyl-C.sub.1-2 alkyl unsubstituted or substituted on the phenyl with 1 to 3 of C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, chloro, bromo, cyano, or hydroxy
- from a neutral to weakly acidic aqueous dyebath.
- 2. The process of claim 1, wherein the polyamide fibers are nylon.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the dyestuff is of the formula ##STR15## and wherein A.sub.1 is in the 2-position and is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy;
- B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 are each hydrogen, methoxy, methyl or chloro, provided that only one of B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 is methyl or chloro;
- D.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, or ethoxy;
- D.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, chloro or acylamino;
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each C.sub.2-4 hydroxy- or dihydroxyalkyl, C.sub.2-4 cyanoalkyl, C.sub.2-4 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or benzyl; and
- --SO.sub.3 M is attached to the 5, 6 or 7-position of the naphthalene ring.
- 4. The process of claim 3, wherein D.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl or methoxy.
- 5. The process of claim 4, wherein B.sub.1 is methoxy, B.sub.2 is methyl, R.sub.1 is ethyl, R.sub.2 is 2-hydroxyethyl, A.sub.1, D.sub.1 and D.sub.2 are hydrogen and SO.sub.3 M is SO.sub.3 Na in the 6-position.
- 6. Polyamide fibers dyed with a dyestuff of the formula ##STR16## wherein M is hydrogen, lithium, sodium, potassium or ammonium;
- B and D are each independently 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-naphthylene;
- A.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, chloro, bromo, cyano or hydroxy;
- B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1-3 alkoxy, C.sub.1-3 alkyl, chloro or bromo;
- D.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or chloro;
- D.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, chloro, bromo, fluoro, C.sub.1-5 alkanoylamino, C.sub.1-5 alkylsulfonylamino, benzoylamino, or benzenesulfonylamino, the acylamino groups either unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 3 C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, chloro, bromo, cyano, or hydroxy; and
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 chloro or bromoalkyl, C.sub.2-6 hydroxy or dihydroxyalkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 cyanoalkyl or phenyl-C.sub.1-2 alkyl unsubstituted or substituted on the phenyl with 1 to 3 of C.sub.1-2 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, chloro, bromo, cyano, or hydroxy.
- 7. The polyamide fibers of claim 6, wherein the polyamide is nylon.
- 8. The polyamide fibers of claim 6 wherein the dyestuff is of the formula ##STR17## and wherein A.sub.1 is in the 2-position and is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, or ethoxy;
- B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 are each hydrogen, methoxy, methyl or chloro, provided that only one of B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 is methyl or chloro;
- D.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, or ethoxy;
- D.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, chloro or acylamino;
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each C.sub.2-4 hydroxy- or dihydroxyalkyl, C.sub.2-4 cyanoalkyl, C.sub.2-4 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or benzyl; and
- --SO.sub.3 M is attached to the 5, 6, or 7-position of the naphthalene ring.
- 9. The polyamide fibers of claim 8, wherein D.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl or methoxy.
- 10. The polyamide fibers of claim 9, wherein B.sub.1 is methoxy, B.sub.2 is methyl, R.sub.1 is ethyl, R.sub.2 is 2-hydroxyethyl, A.sub.1, D.sub.1 and D.sub.2 are hydrogen and SO.sub.3 M is SO.sub.3 Na in the 6-position.
