Claims
- 1. A compound represented by the formula ##STR5## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each an aminohydrocarbyl group, R.sub.3 is a hydrocarbyl group, M is selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal and an alkaline earth metal, and x is 1 or 2.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each aminoethyl groups and R.sub.3 is an ethylene group.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 wherein M is selected from the group consisting of sodium and potassium.
- 4. The compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each have from about 3 to about 10 carbon atoms.
- 5. The compound of claim 1 wherein M is sodium.
- 6. The compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each aminoethyl groups, R.sub.3 is an ethylene group and M is sodium.
- 7. The compound of claim 1 wherein said compound is produced by reacting carbon disulfide with a polyamine in an aqueous solution comprising a compound selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal hydroxide and an alkaline earth metal hydroxide, said polyamine being represented by the formula: ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each an aminohydrocarbyl group and R.sub.3 is a hydrocarbyl group.
- 8. The compound of claim 7 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each aminoethyl groups and R.sub.3 is an ethylene group.
- 9. The compound of claim 8 wherein said aqueous solution comprises an alkali metal hydroxide selected from the group consisting of sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
- 10. The compound of claim 9 wherein said alkali metal hydroxide is sodium hydroxide.
