Claims
- 1. A film comprising a thermoplastic aromatic polycarbonate resin said resin being characterized in having a weight average molecular weight of at least 10,000 and in containing 2 to 100 mole percent, units corresponding to ##STR16## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another denote hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1-8 -alkyl, C.sub.5-6 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.5-10 -aryl or C.sub.7-12 -aralkyl groups, m is an integer of from 4 to 7, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, individually selected for each X, independently of one another denote hydrogen or C.sub.1-6 -alkyl, and X represents carbon, with the proviso that, at least one atom X, both R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are alkyl groups, said percent being relative to the total molar quantity of difunctional carbonate structural units of said polycarbonate.
- 2. The film of claim 1 having a thickness of 1 to 1500 microns.
- 3. The film of claim 2 mono- or biaxially oriented in a ratio of 1:15 to 1:3.0.
