Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR14## in which X = O, S, CH.sub.2, N-lower alkyl or N-lower alkylacyl, each alkyl of one to six carbon atoms, inclusive;
- R.sub.1 = hydrogen,
- alkyl of one to eight carbon atoms, inclusive;
- (CH.sub.2).sub.n phenyl,
- lower alkynyl of one to six carbon atoms, inclusive;
- (CH.sub.2).sub.n O-phenyl, ##STR15## in which R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 is lower alkyl of one to six carbon atoms, inclusive, or (CH.sub.2).sub.n OH;
- n = 1, 2, or 3;
- R.sub.2 = lower alkyl acyl of one to six carbon atoms, inclusive;
- R.sub.3 = hydrogen,
- halogen,
- methyl,

- 2. 6-dimethyl,
- 3,5-dimethyl,
- --CHO,
- --ch.sub.2 oh,
- --ch(ch.sub.3)oh,
- --ch.sub.2 sch.sub.3, ##STR16## r.sub.1 and R.sub.2 as defined above R.sub.4 is a bridged polycyclic hydrocarbon attached through a tertiary carbon atom, said R.sub.4 of the formulae ##STR17##
- and pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts. 2. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.4 is ##STR18##

- 4. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.4 is ##STR20##
- 5. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.4 is ##STR21##
- 6. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.4 is ##STR22##
- 7. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.4 is ##STR23##
- 8. A compound in accordance with claim 1 wherein X is oxygen; R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of one to three carbon atoms, inclusive; R.sub.2 is alkyl acyl wherein the alkyl group has one to three carbon atoms, inclusive; R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluorine and chlorine; R.sub.4 is selected from the group consisting of 1-adamantyl, 2-methyl-2-adamantyl, 1-diamantyl and 4-diamantyl; and pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 9. A compound in accordance with claim 8 wherein the compound is a free base.
- 10. A compound in accordance with claim 8 wherein the compound is a pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt.
- 11. A compound in accordance with claim 10 wherein the acid addition salt is hydrochloride.
- 12. A compound according to claim 1, 4-(1-adamantyloxy)-acetanilide.
- 13. A compound according to claim 1, 4'-(1-adamantyloxy)-N-methyl-2-phenoxyacetanilide.
- 14. A compound according to claim 1, N-formyl-p-(1-adamantyloxy)aniline.
- 15. A compound according to claim 1, N-methyl-4'-(1-adamantyloxy)acetanilide.
- 16. A compound according to claim 1, 4'-(1-adamantyloxy)-2'-fluoroacetanilide.
- 17. A compound according to claim 1, 4'-(1-diamantyloxy)-acetanilide.
- 18. A compound according to claim 1, 4'-(1-adamantyloxy)-3'-fluoroacetanilide.
