Claims
- 1. An electrode and fuse arrangement comprising;
a plurality of electrodes arranged spaced-apart from one another by a material having predetermined properties; a first electrode of the plurality of electrodes positioned below a second electrode of the plurality of electrodes; a third electrode of the plurality of electrodes positioned above the second electrode; a fourth electrode of the plurality of electrodes positioned above the third electrode; a fifth electrode of the plurality of electrodes positioned above the fourth electrode; the first electrode, the third electrode and the fifth electrode are conductively coupled to one another; the second electrode and the fourth electrode are conductively isolated from each other; a first fuse and a second fuse; the first fuse is conductively coupled to the second electrode; the second fuse is conductively coupled to the fourth electrode; the first fuse and the second fuse are conductively isolated from each other; and wherein the first electrode, the third electrode and the fifth electrode are conductively isolated from the second electrode, the fourth electrode, the first fuse, and the second fuse.
- 2. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 1, wherein the third electrode is the central electrode of the plurality of electrodes.
- 3. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 1, wherein the first electrode, the third electrode and the fifth electrode are of substantially the same size; and
wherein the second electrode and the fourth electrode are of substantially the same size.
- 4. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 1 operable as a bypass arrangement.
- 5. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 2, wherein the first electrode, the third electrode and the fifth electrode are of substantially the same size;
wherein the second electrode and the fourth electrode are of substantially the same size; and wherein the second electrode and the fourth electrode are each smaller than either the first electrode, the third electrode or the fifth electrode.
- 6. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 1 wherein the first electrode, the third electrode and the fifth electrode are of substantially the same size;
wherein the second electrode and the fourth electrode are of substantially the same size; wherein the second electrode and the fourth electrode are each smaller than either the first electrode, the third electrode or the fifth electrode; and wherein the third electrode is the central electrode of the plurality of electrodes.
- 7. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 2, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having dielectric properties.
- 8. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 2, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having ferrite properties.
- 9. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 2, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having varistor properties.
- 10. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 6, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having dielectric properties.
- 11. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 6, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having ferrite properties.
- 12. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 6, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having varistor properties.
- 13. The electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 1, wherein either the first fuse or the second fuse comprises a material that responds with increased resistance to energy propagation as the average relative temperature of the material is increased.
- 14. A circuit comprising at least the common electrode and fuse arrangement of claim 6.
- 15. A common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses comprising;
a plurality of common electrodes arranged spaced-apart and conductively coupled to one another, and wherein each common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is of substantially the same size; a pair of electrodes arranged spaced-apart and conductively isolated from each other, and wherein each electrode of the pair of electrodes is of substantially the same size; a pair of fuses arranged spaced-apart and conductively isolated from each other; a material having predetermined properties; a first common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is supported by a first portion of the material having predetermined properties; a first electrode of the pair of electrodes is supported by a second portion of the material having predetermined properties; the first common electrode and the first portion of the material having predetermined properties are positioned below the first electrode and the second portion of the material having predetermined properties; a second common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes supported by a third portion of the material having predetermined properties is positioned above the first electrode; a second electrode of the pair of electrodes supported by a fourth portion of the material having predetermined properties is positioned above the second common electrode; a third common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes supported by a fifth portion of the material having predetermined properties is positioned above the second electrode; a first fuse of the pair of fuses is conductively coupled to the first electrode; a second fuse of the pair of fuses is conductively coupled to the second electrode; any one common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is larger than any one electrode of the pair of electrodes; and wherein any one common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is conductively isolated from both the pair of electrodes and the pair of fuses.
- 16. The common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses of claim 15, wherein the second common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is the central electrode of the plurality of common electrodes.
- 17. The common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses of claim 16, wherein the material having predetermined properties is a material having either predominately dielectric properties, or predominately ferrite properties, or predominately varistor properties.
- 18. The common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses of claim 15, wherein any one common electrode of the plurality of common electrodes is larger than any one electrode of the pair of electrodes.
- 19. The common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses of claim 15, wherein any one fuse of the pair of fuses comprises a material that responds with increased resistance to energy propagation as the average relative temperature of the material is increased.
- 20. A circuit comprising at least the common and differential mode filtering arrangement with fuses of claim 15.
