Claims
- 1. A polymer polyol which comprises a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent resulting from addition polymerization of propylene oxide and polymer particles which are dispersed in the polyoxyalkylene polyol in the range of from greater than or equal to 5 wt % to less than 30 wt %.
- 2. A process for preparing a polymer polyol comprising a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent resulting from addition polymerization of propylene oxide and polymer particles which are dispersed in the polyoxyalkylene polyol in the range of from greater than or equal to 5 wt % to less than 30 wt %, which comprises polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent.
- 3. A process according to claim 1, wherein the polyoxyalkylene polyol is obtained by addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide to an active hydrogen compound having 2 to 8 hydroxyl groups in the presence an alkali metal catalyst which has a purity of at least 90 wt % and contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of cesium hydroxide and rubidium hydroxide.
- 4. A process according to claim 3, wherein the alkylene oxide has at least two compounds selected from the group consisting of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide.
- 5. A process according to claim 3, wherein the content of propylene oxide is at least 70 wt % based on the total weight of alkylene oxide and the polyoxyalkylene polyol contains at least 5 wt % of terminal oxyethylene group.
- 6. A process according to claim 2, wherein the ethylenically unsaturated monomer is acrylonitrile or a mixture of acrylonitrile and styrene.
- 7. A polymer polyol which comprises a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent resulting from addition polymerization of propylene oxide and polymer particles which are dispersed in the polyoxyalkylene polyol in the range of from greater than or equal to 30 wt % to less than or equal to 60 wt % and have a glass transition temperature of from 90 to 120.degree. C.
- 8. A process for preparing a polymer polyol comprising a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent resulting from addition polymerization of propylene oxide and polymer particles which are dispersed in the polyoxyalkylene polyol in the range of from greater than or equal to 30 wt % to less than or equal to 60 wt % and have a glass transition temperature of from 90 to 120.degree. C., which comprises polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of a chain transfer agent in a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol % and a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent resulting from addition polymerization of propylene oxide.
- 9. A process according to claim 8, wherein the polyoxyalkylene polyol is obtained by addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide to an active hydrogen compound which has 2 to 8 hydroxyl groups in the presence an alkali metal catalyst which has a purity of at least 90 wt % and contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of cesium hydroxide and rubidium hydroxide.
- 10. A process according to claim 9, wherein the alkylene oxide has at least two compounds selected from the group consisting of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide.
- 11. A process according to claim 9, wherein the content of propylene oxide is at least 70 wt % based on the total weight of alkylene oxide and the polyoxyalkylene polyol contains at least 5 wt % of terminal oxyethylene group.
- 12. A process according to claim 8, wherein the ethylenically unsaturated monomer is acrylonitrile or a mixture of acrylonitrile and styrene.
- 13. A process according to claim 8, wherein the chain transfer agent is an amine compound.
- 14. A process according to claim 13, wherein the amine compound is of the general formula (1) ##STR3## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms and a hydroxyalkyl group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, may be the same or differ from one another, but are not hydrogen atoms all together, or of the general formula (2) ##STR4## wherein X is oxygen atom or an NR.sub.2 group, R.sub.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a hydroxyalkyl group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a hydroxyalkyl group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms.
- 15. A process according to claim 13, wherein the amine compound is triethylamine.
- 16. A process according to claim 13, wherein the amine compound is N-methylmorpholine.
