Claims
- 1. A composition prepared by reacting about 0.5 to 1 moles HSCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 XH, where X is --S-- or --O--, per mole diorganotin oxide or diorganotin dichloride.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 in which the diorganotin oxide is of the formula R.sub.2 SnO and the diorganotin dichloride is of the formula R.sub.2 SnCl.sub.2, where R is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl or an aryl group.
- 3. The composition of claim 1 in which X is --O--.
- 4. The composition of claim 2 in which X is --O--.
- 5. A polymeric composition comprising repeating units of the formula ##STR3## where R is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl or an aryl group and X is --S-- or --O--.
- 6. The composition of claim 5 in which R is butyl, octyl or phenyl.
- 7. The composition of claim 6 in which Y is --O--.
- 8. The composition of claim 7 in which R is butyl.
