Claims
- 1. A polymeric hydroformylation alcohol or aldehyde reaction product formed by the reaction of:
- a polyolefin having a Mn of about 300 to about 10,000 polymerized from a polyene and a monomer of the formula H.sub.2 C.dbd.CHR.sup.4, wherein R.sup.4 is hydrogen or a straight or branched chain alkyl radical, in the presence of a metallocene catalyst;
- hydrogen; and
- carbon monoxide in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst.
- 2. The polymeric hydroformylation reaction product according to claim 1 wherein said polyolefin has at least 30% terminal vinylidene unsaturation.
- 3. The polymeric hydroformylation reaction product according to claim 2 wherein said polyolefin is polymerized from alkene and .alpha.-olefin monomers.
- 4. The polymeric hydroformylation reaction product according to claim 1 wherein said hydroformylation catalyst is a rhodium, ruthenium, or rhenium-containing catalyst.
