Claims
- 1. A biaxially oriented film comprising a propylene polymer composition comprising propylene homopolymer, the composition having a molecular weight distribution greater than 4.0, and hexane extractables of less than 2.0 wt %.
- 2. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein a sample of the biaxially oriented film having pro-stretched dimensions of a 50.8 mm×50.8 mm×0.508 mm exhibits an even stretch between the temperature ranges of from 150° C. to 159° C. when stretched to a final stretched thickness of 19 μm on a T. M. Long biaxial stretching apparatus after preheating the film for 27 sec and stretching the film at a rate of 76.2 mm/sec.
- 3. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a melting point greater than 145° C.
- 4. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a melt flow rate in the range of 0.2 dg/min to 30.0 dg/min.
- 5. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a molecular weight distribution in the range of from 4.0 to 20.0.
- 6. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a molecular weight distribution in the range of from 4.2 to 20.0.
- 7. The biaxially oriented film claim 1, wherein the composition has a weight average molecular weight that is in the range of from 140,000 to 750,000.
- 8. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a molecular weight distribution greater than 4.5.
- 9. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a molecular weight distribution greater than 4.8.
- 10. The biaxially oriented film of claim 1, wherein the composition has a molecular weight distribution greater than 5.0.
