Claims
- 1. In a method of breaking water-in-oil emulsions comprising adding a breaker to said emulsion, the improvement wherein the breaker is a polyurea-modified polyurethane of the formula ##STR3## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another are selected from the group consisting of C.sub.2 to C.sub.14 -alkylenes and C.sub.3 to C.sub.14 -cycloalkylenes,
- R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 independently of one another are selected from the group consisting of substituted and unsubstituted alkylenes, substituted and unsubstituted cycloalkylenes and substituted and unsubstituted arylenes,
- R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 independently of one another are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C.sub.1-20 -alkyls,
- R.sub.10 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 to C.sub.18 -alkyls, C.sub.6 to C.sub.18 -aryls, C.sub.7 to C.sub.18 -aralkyls and C.sub.2 to C.sub.18 -alkenyls,
- n represents a number in the range of from 0 to 50,
- m represents a number in the range of from 1 to 4,
- x represents a number in the range of from 5 to 100 and
- y represents a number in the range of from 0 to 100.
- 2. In a method of breaking water-in-oil emulsions comprising adding a breaker to said emulsion, the improvement wherein the breaker is a ##STR4## in which R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.2 to C.sub.7 -alkylenes and C.sub.5 to C.sub.7 -cycloalkylenes,
- R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.6 to C.sub.20 -alkylenes, unsubstituted C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 -cycloalkylenes, unsubstituted C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 -arylenes, C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 -cycloalkylenes substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or halogen and C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 -arylenes substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or halogen,
- R.sub.6 and R.sub.8 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl;
- R.sub.10 denotes C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 -alkyl,
- n represents a number in the range of from 0 to 5 and
- x and y represent a number in the range of from 5 to 100, where the units (CHR.sub.6 --CH.sub.2 --O) and (CHR.sub.8 --CH.sub.2 --O) are present in blocks or are randomly distributed or are partly in blocks and partly randomly distributed.
- 3. A method according to claim 2, wherein
- R.sub.1 represents C.sub.2 to C.sub.3 -alkylene,
- R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.6 to C.sub.13 -alkylenes,
- methyl substituted C.sub.6 to C.sub.13 -cycloalkenes, unsubstituted C.sub.6 to C.sub.13 -cycloalkenes and C.sub.6 to C.sub.13 -arylenes,
- R.sub.6 represents hydrogen, R.sub.8 represents methyl,
- n represents a number in the range of from 1 to 5,
- x represents a number in the range of from 5 to 50 and
- y represents a number in the range of from 5 to 40, and the units (CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O) and (CH(CH.sub.3)--CH.sub.2 --O) are randomly distributed or partly in blocks and partly randomly distributed.
