Claims
- 1. A molded synthetic resin containing polurea linkages prepared by the reaction of a poly(aminoaromatic) compound having the formula ##STR3## wherein R is the residue after removal of hydroxyl groups or mercapto groups respectively of a polymeric polyol selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylene polyethers, polyester polyols, polyacetal polyols, polycarbonate polyols, polyesteramine polyols, resole polyols and the polybutadiene polyols, having a molecular weight of from about 400 to about 10,000 and a functionality n of from about 2 to about 6, y is 1 or 2 and A is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and an inert substituent, with an organic polyisocyanate, optionally in the presence of polymeric polyols and/or extenders.
- 2. A resin according to claim 1, wherein y in said poly(aminoaromatic) compound is 2.
- 3. A resin according to claim 1 wherein y in said poly(aminoaromatic) compound is 1 and said NH.sub.2 group is in the ortho or para position relative to the --O--.
- 4. A resin according to claim 1 wherein said NH.sub.2 group is in the ortho position.
- 5. A resin according to claim 1 wherein A in said poly(aminoaromatic) compound is hydrogen.
- 6. A resin according to claim 1 wherein in said poly(aminoaromatic) compound R is the residue after removal of hydroxyl groups of a polymeric polyol having a molecular weight of from about 1500 to about 6000 and a functionality n of from about 2 to about 4, y is 1 and said NH.sub.2 group is in the ortho or para position relative to --O-- and A is hydrogen.
- 7. A resin according to claim 6 wherein R is the residue of a polypropyleneoxy-polyethyleneoxy glycol having a molecular weight of about 2,000, nj=2 and said NH.sub.2 is in the para position.
- 8. A resin according to claim 6 wherein R is the residue of a polypropyleneoxy-polyethyleneoxy glycol having a molecular weight of about 2,000, n=2 and said NH.sub.2 is in the ortho position.
- 9. A resin according to claim 6 wherein R is the residue of a polypropyleneoxy glycol having a molecular weight of about 2,000, n=2 and said NH.sub.2 is in the ortho position.
- 10. A resin according to claim 6 wherein R is the residue of a polyethyleneoxy capped polypropyleneoxy triol having a molecular weight of about 5,000 n=3 and said NH.sub.2 is in the ortho position.
- 11. A resin according to claim 1 wherein in said poly(aminoaromatic) compound R is the residue after removal of hydroxyl groups of a polymeric polyol having an average molecular weight of about 400 to about 500 and an average functionality of about 4, y is 1 and said NH.sub.2 group is in the ortho position and A is hydrogen.
- 12. A resin according to claim 1 wherein R is the residue of a polypropyleneoxy glycol having a molecular weight of about 2,000, n=2, y is 2 and said NH.sub.2 groups are in the ortho and para position relative to the --O-- and A is hydrogen.
- 13. A film cast from a solution of a synthetic resin containing polyurea linkages prepared by the reaction of a poly(aminoaromatic) compound according to claim 1 with an organic polyisocyanate, optionally in the presence of polymeric polyols and/or extenders.
