Claims
- 1. A thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer glove having a peripheral seam and a wrist opening comprising:
- two layers of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer barrier film; said film having a thickness of from about 0.5 mils to about 5 mils (about 0.0127 .mu.m to about 0.127 .mu.m);
- a weld joining said layers together along said peripheral seam thereof to form a configuration corresponding to the contour of a hand, leaving said wrist opening unsealed.
- 2. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer glove of claim 1 wherein said weld has a span of from about 2 to about 10 times the thickness of said film.
- 3. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer glove of claim 1 wherein said weld has a strength substantially the same as that of said film.
- 4. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer glove of claim 1 wherein said weld is continuous and free of pin-holes, holidays, wrinkles and burn marks.
- 5. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer glove of claim 1 wherein said film has a Vicat softening temperature of from about 60.degree. to about 150.degree. C.
