The disclosure relates to blanket devices and more particularly pertains to a new blanket device for covering a user or being wearable on the user.
The prior art relates to blanket devices.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a blanket that is comprised of a thermally insulating material. The blanket is positionable over or around a user to warm the user. The blanket has a neck slot extending therethrough and the user's neck can be extended through the neck slot for wearing the blanket. Moreover, the neck slot is centrally positioned on the blanket such that the blanket covers the user's chest and the user's back when the blanket is worn. A flap is coupled to the blanket and the flap is aligned with the neck slot for covering the neck slot. A plurality of fasteners is provided and each of the fasteners is coupled to the flap. Each of the fasteners releasably engages the blanket to retain the flap over the neck slot.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The blanket 12 has a first surface 18, a second surface 20 and a perimeter edge 22 extending therebetween, and the perimeter edge 22 has a front side 24 and a back side 26. The neck slot 16 extends through the first surface 18 and the second surface 20, and the neck slot 16 is oriented collinear with the front side 24 and the back side 26 of the perimeter edge 22 of the blanket 12. Additionally, the neck slot 16 is centrally positioned between the front side 24 and the back side 26, and the neck slot 16 has a first edge 28 and a second edge 30.
The blanket 12 has a plurality of fastener holes 32 each extending through the first surface 18 and the second surface 20. The fastener holes 32 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the first edge 28 of the neck slot 16. A flap 34 is coupled to the blanket 12 and the flap 34 is aligned with the neck slot 16 for covering the neck slot 16. The flap 34 has a primary edge 36, a secondary edge 38 and a bottom surface 40. The primary edge 36 is coupled to the first surface 18 of the blanket 12. Moreover, the primary edge 36 is aligned with and is coextensive with the second edge 30 of the neck slot 16 having the flap 34 extending across the neck slot 16.
A plurality of fasteners 42 is provided and each of the fasteners 42 is coupled to the flap 34. Each of the fasteners 42 releasably engages the blanket 12 to retain the flap 34 over the neck slot 16. Each of the fasteners 42 is positioned on the bottom surface 40 of the flap 34 and each of the fasteners 42 is aligned with a respective one of the fastener holes 32. Moreover, each of the fasteners 42 is extendable through the respective fastener hole 32 for closing the flap 34 over the neck slot 16. Each of the fasteners 42 may comprise a button, a hook or any other type of releasable fastener that can engage the respective fastener hole 32.
In use, the blanket 12 is wrapped around the user 14 when the user 14 wishes to keep warm. Additionally, the user 14 can extend the user 14's neck through the neck slot 16 in order to wear the blanket 12 in the convention of a poncho. In this way the user's arms are free to move around while user 14 enjoys the warmth of the blanket 12. The flap 34 can be laid over the neck slot 16 and each of the fasteners 42 can be extended through the respective fastener hole 32 to cover the neck slot 16. In this way the wind or cold air is inhibited from passing through the neck slot 16 when the user 14 is covered with the blanket 12.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
