The present general inventive concept relates generally to a pop up emblem for a sports cap.
Many individuals use sports hats (e.g., baseball caps, brimmed caps, etc.) to display their support for their favorite teams. Currently, on the market, there are various sports caps that exist, but there is always a need for unique caps on the market.
Therefore, there is a need for a sports cap with a unique emblem displaying device.
The present general inventive concept provides a pop up emblem for a sports cap.
Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.
The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a pop up emblem disposed on a brim of a sports cap, the pop up emblem including a lifting portion to move from a first position laying flat on the brim to a second position disposed substantially perpendicularly with respect to the brim, a rotating rod disposed on the brim or within the brim, and connected at a first end to the lifting portion to rotate to move the lifting portion from the first position to the second position, and a knob connected to a second end of the rotating rod to cause the rotating rod to rotate when the knob is rotated.
The pop up emblem may further include a rod connecting member to connect to the first end of the rotating rod, and a rotating member disposed within the lifting portion or behind the lifting portion, and connected at a base thereof to the rod connecting member to allow the lifting portion to move from the first position to the second position in response to the rotation of the knob.
The pop up emblem may further include a brim connecting portion to connect a base of the pop up emblem to a top surface of the brim.
The pop up emblem may further include a fulcrum point disposed between the brim connecting portion and the lifting portion to act as a fulcrum upon which the lifting portion moves from the first position to the second position.

The pop up emblem 100 may be disposed at a front portion of the brim 12, and may be disposed at a front left portion of the brim 12, a front right portion of the brim 12, or any other portion of the brim 12 that a manufacturer may desire.
The pop up emblem 100 may include any type of picture, logo, design, etc., which is desired by a user.
The pop up emblem 100 may include a brim connecting portion 110, a lifting portion 120, a rotating member 130, a fulcrum point 140, a knob 150, a rotating rod 160, and a rod connecting member 170, but is not limited thereto.
The brim connecting portion 110 may be connected to a top surface of the brim 12. The connection between the brim connecting portion 110 and the top surface of the brim 12 may be performed via threads, bonding, glue, staples, etc., but is not limited thereto. As such, the brim connecting portion 110 may allow a base portion of the pop up emblem 100 to be attached to the top surface of the brim 12.
The lifting portion 120 may be disposed flat on the top surface of the brim 12 when the pop up emblem 100 is in a first position, and may be perpendicular with respect to the brim 12 when the pop up emblem 100 is in a second position.
The rotating member 130 may be disposed within the lifting portion 120, or may be disposed behind the lifting portion 120.
The lifting portion 120, which may be connected to the rotating member 130, may be designed to move from the first position to the second position along the fulcrum point 140.
The rotating member 130 may be connected to the rod connecting member 170 at a base portion of the rotating member 130.
The rod connecting member may be connected to the rotating rod 160, which may be disposed within the brim 12 or at a top surface of the brim 12.
An end of the rotating rod 160 may be connected to the knob 150.

Alternatively, when the knob 150 is rotated clockwise, the rotating member 130 may also move in a clockwise direction such that the lifting portion 120 may move from the second position to the first position, such that the lifting portion 120 moves from the vertical position to the horizontal position along the fulcrum point 130.
As such, the user may use the knob 150 to selectively move the pop up emblem 100 from the first position, where it is laying flat on the brim 12, to the second position, where it is positioned “sitting up” in the vertical position.
In various embodiments, the pop up emblem 100 may be detachable and interchangeable, and the brim connecting portion 110 may not be included.
