Claims
- 1. A portable abrasive throwing wheel system secured to an overhead support means comprising a portable abrasive throwing wheel device including a drive motor, an abrasive supply, an abrasive supply line extending from said abrasive supply to said portable abrasive throwing wheel device, an overhead cantilevered boom depending from said overhead support means and having a rotary fitting permitting rotation thereabout in a horizontal plane, suspension means suspending said portable abrasive throwing wheel device from said cantilevered boom for swinging movement and including (a) a hanger means on said throwing wheel device for directly supporting the wheel, (b) a carriage means movable along said cantilevered boom, and (c) flexible support members connecting said hanger means to said carriage means, said supply line extending through said rotary fitting, and said rotary fitting providing for a 360.degree. rotation of said cantilevered boom.
- 2. The portable abrasive throwing wheel system of claim 1 wherein said hanger means provides an essentially single point of suspension for connection to said flexible support members.
- 3. The portable abrasive throwing wheel system of claim 1 wherein there are two only of said flexible support members, and said two flexible support members diverge upwardly from said hanger means to said carriage means with said flexible support members forming means restraining movement of said hanger means relative to said carriage means.
- 4. The portable abrasive throwing wheel system of claim 1 wherein a first of said flexible support members leads forward and upwardly from said hanger means at a first angle to the horizontal and a second of said flexible support members leads rearwardly and upwardly from said hanger means at a second and greater angle to the horizontal whereby a rearward force on said hanger means produces a material lifting force on said hanger means thereby resisting rearward movement of said hanger means and said portable abrasive throwing wheel device.
- 5. The portable abrasive throwing wheel system of claim 4 wherein said first flexible support leads forwardly and upwardly at an angle in the order of 45.degree. to the horizontal and said second flexible support leads rearwardly and upwardly at an angle greater than 45.degree. to the horizontal.
