The present invention relates primarily to a field of ankle monitors, and more particularly it relates to a unique and improved ankle monitor device of an enhanced portable size with an efficient charging, which is designed specifically for personal safety and tracking of an individual and is easy to use by the individual without any discontinuation, thereby to uninterruptedly monitor the individual.
Ankle monitors and monitoring bracelets are widely utilized to track individuals. They are most commonly used by the justice system to monitor the individuals with pending criminal charges released from jail on bail, facilitate monitoring the individuals on home arrest, and monitoring the individuals on parole or probation. In recent years, the ankle monitors have also been used in monitoring of the individuals with mental impairments such as Alzheimer or dementia.
Over the course of time, various tracking and monitoring devices have been invented to monitor or track persons that are subject to restricted movements. Moreover, various prior arts have been disclosed in order to attempt and solve the aforesaid problem. A prior art US20220068104A1 to Lee Wilson, discloses a tracking and monitoring system and method which include a callback engine in communication with a plurality of GNSS-enabled ankle monitor bracelets via cellular/Wi-Fi internet service or SMS text service, depending on availability of services at each bracelet location. The bracelets include advanced power saving circuitry and notify the callback engine of low battery levels. An administration application allows efficient management of bracelets by law enforcement authorities and may communicate with bracelet wearers via the callback engine or a mobile phone application. However, the ankle monitor bracelet of Lee does not address anything about the portability of device.
A prior art U.S. Ser. No. 10/984,645B2 to Mark Wojci et al., describes a novel security band which can be used in conjunction with a commercially available smartwatch. The security band is able to detect if it is cut or removed and is able to wirelessly notify a smartwatch or optional smartphone. The notification is then relayed to a monitoring center or supervising authority using a cellular telephone network or other wireless communication method. However, the Mark mainly focuses on tamper or removal detection of the security band, and silent about portability feature and other advanced features. As a matter of fact, the limitations of the abovementioned invention of the Lee have not been overcome by the invention of the Mark.
Another prior art U.S. Pat. No. 7,619,513B2 to Maurice L. Hill et al, describes a body worn device for monitoring movement of an object, wherein the device comprises a first module configured to secure to the object, a second module capable of electrically connecting to the first module, includes at least a rechargeable battery and a memory capable of storing a history of movement data, and a third module capable of electrically connecting with the second module includes a data modem capable of connecting to a remote station, and a battery charger. The Maurice focuses on recording the movement of individuals using GPS signals for later comparison with event data to determine if the individual was in the vicinity of the event within a given time frame. However, this patent does not disclose anything about portability of the device and other advanced features.
Another prior art US20070171047A1 to Gregory Goodman et al., discloses a status device and system that enables a person, animal, or object to be identified, located and a status to be determined using location and tracking technologies. The status device can be in the form of a wristband. The status device can include a variety of components including a GPS antenna array which receives the GPS ranging signals transmitted from the GPS satellites positioned in the sky above the status device.
Another prior art US20220084386A1 to Linda Diane Flores Lopez, introduces a device which has an inner and outer base control module with a multifunctioning sensor tracking system comprising multiple elements with varied housing, color, designs, and shapes. The device housing can have diverse distinct differences ranging from but not limited to wrist or bracelet, shapes, rings cell phones, buttons, square or rectangular wall and desk top models for seniors, all with components information, recording and control requirements. The device has the power source within the housed unit which can be solar, electric, battery or as technology advances according to the designs dictated by skilled experts.
Although there is a plurality of tracking and monitoring devices available in the market in order to monitor or track displacements of the individuals, they do not adequately solve or render a viable solution to the current problem. Based on the prior arts research as described above, the vast majority of the tracking and monitoring devices do not have an enhanced portable size. Also, some devices are heavy in weight and require frequent charging.
The applicant is unaware of any such monitoring devices which have the enhanced portable size. Moreover, there is no such ankle monitoring device known in the prior arts that has a lightweight and flexible design and is easy to use by the person without any discontinuation due to lack of charging. In addition, there is no such ankle monitoring device known in the prior arts that has the advanced features disclosed by the present invention in following description.
The conventional ankle monitoring devices encounter various problems and are provided with quite an inflexible configuration. On the other hand, the present invention discloses a practical solution via an improved ankle monitoring device with a plurality of advanced features disclosed hereinafter. The unique characteristics and features of the present invention are, therefore, unrepresented within the conventional ankle monitoring devices. Hence, the present invention has been disclosed to provide solutions to the aforementioned needs, and to resolve the aforementioned deficiencies in the conventional monitoring methods and apparatuses.
