Claims
- 1. A portable grill apparatus comprising:
a grill having a hood and a firebox; a burner assembly being disposed in said grill, said burner assembly being capable of heating an interior portion of said grill; a frame being arranged and configured to substantially correspond to said grill and to receive and support said grill; and an adjustable leg assembly extending from said frame.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said frame is configured to releasably engage and support said grill.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said hood is hingedly connected to said firebox such that said hood pivots about said hinged connection when said hood is removed from said firebox.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein said hood is hingedly connected to said firebox by means of spring-loaded hinges.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said leg assembly comprises:
at least a pair of opposing leg members, each of said leg members having a proximal end and distal end, said leg members being pivotally connected to said frame toward said proximal end, wherein said leg members are retractable and extendable about said pivot connection to said frame; a standing support disposed toward said distal end of each leg member, said standing support arranged and configured to contact a supporting surface when said leg member is extended; a flange support disposed toward said proximal end of each leg member, said flange support arranged and configured to contact a supporting surface when said leg member is retracted; and a locking mechanism arranged and configured to lock said leg members into position.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a leveling block, said leveling block being arranged and configured to receive said standing support; wherein said leveling block can be disposed between a support surface and said standing support to support said grill for use.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a locking latch, said locking latch being disposed on said grill and releasably fastening said hood and said fireboxs together.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said firebox has at least one cooking surface thereon.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said firebox defines a first plane and said grill has a substantially planar cooking surface oriented at an angle relative to said first plane.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein said angle is a compound angle defining a low point on said cooking surface.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 10, further comprising a grease drain hole at said low point.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising a level indicator for leveling said firebox.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein said cooking surface comprises a substantially corrugated upper side.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a side shelf having a substantially planar surface and being removably fixed to said firebox and extending outwardly from said grill.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein said side shelf comprises:
a fuel access aperture disposed therein, said fuel aperture being arranged and configured to provide access to a fuel source.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said burner assembly further comprises:
a gas burner arranged and configured to receive fuel for burning, said gas burner extending along a length of said grill and being disposed in said firebox; a burner shield, said burner shield substantially corresponding to said gas burner, said burner shield disposed in generally underlying relationship to said gas burner; a fuel connector, said fuel connector being in communication with said gas burner and extending outwardly from said grill, wherein said outwardly extending portion is arranged and configured to receive a fuel source; wherein said gas burner assembly is fully enclosed by said firebox and a cooking surface.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein said fuel connector is of the snap in type.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising a venturi extending from said fuel connector to said gas burner.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprising a venturi guard adapted to receive said venturi.
- 20. The grill of claim 18, wherein said venturi is releasably received by said venturi guard.
- 21. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said burner assembly further comprises:
a gas burner arranged and configured to receive fuel for burning, said gas burner extending along a length of said grill and being disposed in said firebox; a burner shield, said burner shield substantially corresponding to said gas burner, said burner shield substantially surrounding said gas burner; a fuel connector, said fuel connector being in communication with said gas burner and extending outwardly from said grill, wherein said outwardly extending portion is arranged and configured to receive a fuel source; wherein said gas burner assembly is fully enclosed by said firebox and a cooking surface.
- 22. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said burner assembly further comprises:
a gas burner arranged and configured to receive fuel for burning, said gas burner extending along a length of said grill and being disposed in said firebox; a fuel connector, said fuel connector being in communication with said gas burner and extending outwardly from said grill, wherein said outwardly extending portion is arranged and configured to receive a fuel source; wherein said gas burner assembly is fully enclosed by said firebox and a cooking surface.
- 23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein said gas burner assembly further comprises:
an automatic igniter having a portion extending outwardly from said grill, said automatic igniter being arranged and configured to ignite fuel in said gas burner when said automatic igniter is activated by a user.
- 24. A portable grill apparatus comprising:
an enclosure means for enclosing a defined space therein; a heating means for heating said defined space with said enclosure means, said heating means being disposed within said enclosure means; a base means arranged and configured to receive and support said enclosure means thereon; said heating means comprising:
a burner means for burning a fuel; a fuel receiving means for delivering fuel from a fuel supply to said burner means, said fuel receiving means being connected to said burner means; and a cooking surface with a drain disposed above said heating means and having an angular disposition relative to said enclosure means for directing liquid matter from foods cooked on the grill apparatus to said drain.
- 25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein said drain empties into a grease trap, said grease trap having a cover and a fill level indicator, wherein said fill level indicator indicates an amount of liquid collected in said grease trap.
