In recent years there has been a significant increase in the amount of CBD or Hemp Oil based products on the market. These products contain meaningfully different amounts of the chemical CBD, based on each individual manufacturer, often varying with each product batch. There are numerous distributors of CBD products and little regulatory structure to guarantee the exact content of any given product. In order to obtain any real benefit of CBD products, its potential users need to be able to obtain an accurate verification of the CBD content of any given batch of CBD product.
Various tools and systems exist to test the content of Cannabidiol (CBD) contained within a sample. These tools are generally priced for the higher end of the market and can required significant training in order to operate properly. The tools available range from inaccurate lower cost testing systems to laboratory grade systems that require careful testing procedures in order to ensure accuracy. Several of the available testing systems are physically large and not easily portable. In order for the CBD or Hemp Oil testing process to be performed it is often necessary to measure accurate amounts of a reagent to obtain accurate results, something which is generally difficult to do without a proper testing environment.
One method of determining chemical composition involves spectrophotometry which measures the amount of light which passes through a sample. Spectrophotometry requires properly tuned equipment, a cuvette, and measurements in order to determine the content of a sample. The testing process can be error prone if not followed correctly.
For the foregoing reasons, there is a need for a system which is both less cumbersome and easier to use.
The present invention is directed to portable CBD or Hemp Oil testing system which satisfies this need. The portable CBD or Hemp Oil testing system comprises a prefilled reagent container and electronic testing apparatus. The electronic testing apparatus includes a light emitter, a light detector, a battery, a test module for the CBD Reagent Solution, and a display device.
A preferred embodiment of the endocannabidiol detection device provides a prefilled reagent container which is constructed a transparent or semitransparent material. The reagent container is filled with a premeasured reagent. The reagent container includes a filter and a removable top. The electronic testing apparatus, which includes a of light detector, a light emitter, a battery, a CBD Test Module for the CBD reagent solution, and a display device. The material to be tested can be added to the reagent container by removing the top, adding an amount of the substance to be tested, which is mixed and then passes through the filter, and then the user replaces the reagent container top prior to testing. Once the material to be tested is added to the reagent container the CBD Reagent solution is placed inside of the CBD Test module of the electronic testing apparatus.
The electronic testing apparatus is then turned on and the light emitter shines light through the CBD Reagent solution and onto the light detector. The light detector measures the light which is transmitted through the CBD Reagent solution and provides a reading on the display device which indicates the amount of light that passes through the CBD Reagent solution. The specific wavelengths of light emitted are in the visible light spectrum of 380 nm to 740 nm.
In the Summary above and in the sections below, and in the accompanying drawings, reference is made to particular features of the invention. It is so understood that the disclosure of the invention in this specification includes all possible combinations of such particular features. For example, where a particular feature is disclosed in the context of a particular aspect or embodiment of the invention, or a particular claim, that feature can also be used, to the extent possible, in combination with and/or in the context of other particular aspects and embodiments of the invention, and in the invention generally.
The term “comprises” and grammatical equivalents thereof are used herein to mean that other components, ingredients, steps, etc. are optionally present. For example, an article “comprising” (or “which comprises”) components A, B, and C can consist of (i.e., contain only) components A, B, and C, or can contain not only components A, B, and C but also one or more other components.
Where reference is made herein to a method comprising two or more defined steps, the defined steps can be carried out in any order or simultaneously (except where the context excludes that possibility), and the method can include one or more other steps which are carried out before any of the defined steps (except where the context excludes that possibility).
The term “at least” followed by a number is used herein to denote the start of a range beginning with that number (which may be a range having an upper limit or no upper limit, depending on the variable being defined}. For example “at least 1” means 1 or more than 1. The term “at most” followed by a number is used herein to denote the end of a range ending with that number (which may be a range having 1 or 0 as its lower limit, or a range having no lower limit, depending upon the variable then being defined). For example, “at most 4” means 4 or less than 4, and “at most 40%” means 40% or less than 40%. When, in this specification, a range is given as “(a first number) to (a second number)” or “(a first number)-(a second number),” this means a range whose lower limit is the first number and whose upper limit is the second number. For example, 25 to 100 nm means a range whose lower limit is 25 nm, and whose upper limit is 100 nm.
The invention does not require that all of the advantageous features and all the advantages need to be incorporated into every embodiment of the invention.

The test solution, CBD Reagent Solution 201, clarity or transparency and the output AC or DC output electrical signal, Output Signal 703, resolution are calibrated against a reagent container filled with 100% acetone that produces the highest AC or DC output electrical signal, Output Signal 703, for calibration.
Although embodiments of the present invention have been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred versions thereof, other versions are possible. For example, the reagent container shown is round, but could be replaced with any other type of reagent container which serves the desired purpose. Therefore, the spirit and scope of this application should not be limited to the description of the preferred versions contained herein.

All the features disclosed in this specification (including any accompanying claims, abstract, and drawings) may be replaced by alternative features which service the same, equivalent or similar purpose, unless expressly stated otherwise. Thus, unless expressly stated otherwise, each feature disclosed is one example only of a generic series of equivalent or similar features.
