As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a portable chair and more particularly to a portable chair with covering. Generally, the portable chair with covering may include a foldable chair and a cover that selectively encompasses an entirety of the foldable chair to protect a user seated on the foldable chair from weather conditions. The cover may preferably be removable from the foldable chair. Further, the portable chair with covering may include storage means. For example, the foldable chair may include a cup holder and the cover may include pockets for receiving items therein. Preferably, the portable chair with covering may include lightweight materials to aid in portability.

In addition, in some embodiments, more than one chair may be provided. In these embodiments, the cover may be configured to cover all chairs, providing a ‘bubble’ with multiple chairs enclosed together. The portable chair with covering may be useful for situations in which long hours of sitting are required, such as soccer practice, security guard work, outdoor concerts, vaccine lines, indoor hockey rinks, etc.

Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in FIGS. 1-10, various views of a portable chair and covering system 100. As shown, the portable chair and covering system 100 may include at least one chair 110 and a cover 120.

The at least one chair 110 may include a seat portion 112, a backrest portion 114, a pair of arm rest portions 116 and four leg portions 118. As shown, the backrest portion 114 may extend vertically from a rear of the seat portion 112. In some embodiments, the pair of arm rest portions 116 may extend above the seat portion 112 at a left and a right side thereof, respectively. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 4, the at least one chair 110 may be foldable to aid in the portability thereof. For example, the backrest portion 114 may be pivotably attached to the seat portion 112. As such, the backrest portion 114 may be movable between an in-use position (whereby the backrest portion 114 is substantially perpendicular to the seat portion 112) and a folded position (whereby the backrest portion 114 is substantially parallel to the seat portion 112). In some examples, the four leg portions 118 may also be pivotably attached to the seat portion 112 such that they are able to move between the in-use position and the folded position.

Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the at least one chair 110 may include a handle 119 for use in carrying the at least one chair 110. In some embodiments, the handle may be a fabric handle. The at least one chair 110 may also include fasteners, such as clips, configured to secure the at least one chair 110 in the folded position. In addition, in some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 6, the backrest portion 114 may be configured to recline. For example, in some embodiments, the backrest portion 114 may fasten to the pair of arm rest portions 116 at various positions.

Preferably, the cover 120 may be detachable from the at least one chair 110. As such, a user may install the cover 120 onto the at least one chair 110 when needed. This may further aid in portability. For example, when the at least one chair 110 is folded, the cover 120 may be removed therefrom. Further, to additionally aid in portability, the at least one chair 110 and the cover 120 may be made from lightweight materials.

The cover 120 may include a pair of fasteners 122. In some embodiments, the pair of fasteners 122 may be each configured to attach to each respective rear leg of the at least one chair. Particularly, in some embodiments, the pair of fasteners 122 may include a pair of clamps. For example, each of the pair of clamps may include a first clamp half and a second clamp half. Each clamp half may clamp to a half of each rear leg of the at least one chair. This may securely attach the cover 120 to the at least one chair 110 such that when the cover 120 is open and covering the at least one chair 110, the clamps may support a weight thereof.

It should however be appreciated that the pair of fasteners 122 are not limited to clamps, nor are the fasteners 122 limited to fastening to rear legs of the at least one chair 110. For example, the pair of fasteners 122 may attach underneath the at least one chair, to the backrest, etc.

Further, as shown in FIGS. 5-9 particularly, the cover 120 may include a main body 124 and a set of support rods 126 configured to hold the main body 124 over substantially an entirety of the at least one chair 110. In some examples, as shown in these figures, the set of support rods 126 may be spaced about the main body 124 and define a plurality of cover sections. In this example, each of the plurality of cover sections may be moved between an extended position and a collapsed position such that the cover 120 may provide varying levels of shelter for the at least one chair 110 (and thus the user), as demonstrated in FIGS. 1-3 and FIGS. 5-6. As shown in FIG. 1 particularly, when fully extended, the cover 120 may cover feet of the user, providing protection from inclement weather (particularly rain and snow), and/or insects.

It should however be appreciated that the set of support rods 126 are not limited to the configuration discussed here and shown in the figures. For example, in some embodiments, the at least one chair 110 may include extendable support rods that may attach to either side of the cover 120 to hold the cover 120 over the at least one chair 110.

In some embodiments, the main body 124 may be waterproof. This may enable the user to shelter underneath the cover 120, which may be useful for long outdoor events such as soccer, outdoor concerts, etc. Further, the main body 124 may include an outer surface 123 and an inner surface 125. Preferably as shown in FIG. 8, the inner surface 125 may include at least one first storage receptacle 127. For example, the at least one first storage receptacle 127 may include at least one pocket, enabling the user to store items therein. Further, in some embodiments, the main body 124 may include at least one window 121. The at least one window 121 may allow air circulation through the cover 120 and also may enable the user of the at least one chair 110 to give and receive items therethrough. In some examples, as shown in these figures, the main body 124 may include a window 121 located at a front thereof, and another window 121 located on at least one side thereof. In some embodiments, the at least one window 121 may include mesh material. Further, the at least one window 121 may be openable (and closeable) via a zipping fastener.

Further, in some embodiments, the at least one chair 110 may include at least one second storage receptacle 113. For example, the at least one second storage receptacle 113 may be attached to an underside of the seat portion 112. In another example, another at least one second storage receptacle 113 may be provided at a rear of the backrest portion 114, as particularly demonstrated in FIG. 9. The at least one second storage receptacle 113 may be configured to receive items such as blankets, books, etc. Further, In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 7 at least one of the pair of arm rest portions 116 may include a cup holder 111. In addition to this, in some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 5, the at least one chair 110 may include a tray 117. The tray 117 may be removably attachable over the pair of arm rest portions 116. For example, the tray 117 may clamp onto each of the pair of arm rest portions 116. When not in use, the tray 117 may be stored within the at least one second storage receptacle 113.

Referring now specifically to FIG. 10, as shown, in some embodiments, the at least one chair 110 may include more than one chair. For example, the chair 110 may include (but is not limited to) a pair of chairs 110. In this embodiment, as shown, the cover 120 may be configured to selectively cover substantially an entirety of the pair of chairs 110 (or more). In this embodiment, as shown, the pair of fasteners 122 may be configured to attach to a rear leg of each of the pair of chairs 110. For example, one fastener may attach to a left rear leg of one chair 110 and another fastener may attach to a right rear leg of another chair 110. In some embodiments, a single chair cover may be removed from a chair, and a double chair cover may be added such that two users may sit together under one cover. In other embodiments, the cover 120 may be configured to fasten to another cover 120.

Referring now to FIG. 11 showing a flow diagram illustrating a method 200 of using a portable chair and covering system, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In particular, the method 200 may include one or more components or features of the portable chair and covering system 100 as described above. As illustrated, the method 200 may include the steps of: step one 201, providing the portable chair and covering system as above; step two 202, sitting in the seat portion of the at least one chair; step three 203, selectively pulling the cover to move the main body over the at least one chair, thereby covering at least a portion of the at least one chair; and step four 204, selectively pushing the cover to move the main body away from the at least one chair, thereby uncovering the at least a portion of the at least one chair. In some embodiments, as discussed above, the user may selectively pull the cover to move at least a portion of the plurality of cover sections into the extended position, thereby covering at least a portion of the chair; and the user may selectively push the cover to move the at least a portion of the plurality of cover sections into the collapsed position, thereby uncovering the at least a portion of the chair.

It should be noted that certain steps are optional steps and may not be implemented in all cases. It should also be noted that the steps described in the method of use can be carried out in many different orders according to user preference.
